How hard is it to change the starter? Can it be done with standard tools and one the ground without ramps? Thanks.

Since the motor is located at a lower point in the engine it will require that you JACK up the vehicle so that you can access the starter motor. It is important that you must be able to work in such postion with the tools to remove the two bolts that are bolted on the starter. You will need socket spanners/ box tools to remove the bolts.

What tools do i need to remove to starter from 97 blazer

Just common tools. A boxed ended wrench to remove the electrical connections, and a socket, extension, and ratchet to remove the bolts holding the starter on . Make sure to disconnect the battery positive cable before attempting to remove the starter. Remember how the cables are connected to the starter.

I hae a 97 f-150 4x4 the starter wont work

Have your battery load tested first. If the battery is good then check the current draw on the starter. If the starter is pulling over 400 amps it is cooked and needs to be replaced. You might also the starter bendix before replacing the whole starter.

Where is the starter located and what tool are required to remove

you have to look with a flash light depending on the vehicle, go under the vehicle and look left to the right of the bottom of the engine and you should see a elongated part no bigger than 12 inches(smaller) and it will have no more than three wires with a smaller cylinder attacked to it. most of the time there will be 3 bolts or nuts holding it on. tools= socket set; standard for domestic vehicles and metric for import vehicles, open end wrenches and wire cutters(just in case). most of the time on domestic cars you will use a size of 1/2 to 9/16 for you tools. start with disconnecting the battery then remove the starter. when putting the new one on just turn the teeth on the starter to line up with the wheel in the engine, you will see that when you remove the old starter. splice the new power wire if needed for the power, a new wire should come with the new starter if it is needed. hook the battery back up and enjoy!

'03 Wrangler, Clutch Problems

HI, you can start with the basics ,check fluid at the clutch slave reservoir ,if it need fluid ,add to the max and pump the clutch pedal to see if it engage,if not,you must have to bleed it ,it should be a bleeding valve at the slave cilinder, you will need assistance to do this ,to pump the cluth pedal several times and hold it down while you open and let the air out .if this dont help,it may be a bad cluth assembly,it is not to hard to replace it and you dont need any special tools, just basic tools and if you cant get a tranny jack you can use a floor jack, this are the basic steps disconect your positive battery cable remove the shifter, lift and secure the jeep in jack stands, disconect the drive shaft at the u joints , remove all the bolts that holds the tranny to the motor, you my have to remove the starter, position the jack under the tranny ,remove the cross member, remove all cables and every thing around tranny carefully pull the tranny to the back, replace the cluth good luck.................
