Question about 1995 Honda Passport

While driving my 95 passport I hit a large pothole and the engine died. Engine would fire while cranking but die as soon as the starter was released. Replaced relay, fuel filter and fuel pump but can not get pump to work durring start cycle. Any Ideas ?

    While replacing the pump I replaced the sock also.

Hi! Its got to be a PCM (powertrain control module) issue. The PCM has connectivity on all electric current that runs inside the car including the engine and transmission. The PCM's connectivity to the fuel pump surely is faulty. You will need to have the PCM resetted to resolve this or if the PCM itself is faulty, a replacement is strongly recommended. I wonder if when you hit the large pothole you managed to dislodge some dirt in the fuel tank and clog the prepump filter sock. Are you getting good flow and pressure from the fuel line. Use an old towel to help catch the spill and undo the union to the fuel rail on the engine a few turns. disconnect the electrical supply to the coil (we do not want ant any source of ignition). Put the ignition to position 2, this should engage the pump etc. Fuel should spurt out of the loosened union at high pressure. Usually when you put the key in position 3 the pump disengages but its non return valve should maintain fuel pressure throughout the start up> Many start failures are caused by the non return valve being unable to maintain vital pressure, however your is new so should be fine. If the fuel does not come through quickly it will be the filter sock on the end of the fuel tank pick-up pipe that has become blocked. To get at this you will need to drop the fuel tank.

I have a 95 tahoe i was driveing home from work and it died on me at 55mph, i cranked it while driveing and it fired back up, within a few miles it died again and would not start, still wont start

You need to check it for spark and fuel and go from there. If you have questions on how to test let me know. Don't start throwing away money in parts for it.

My Chrysler lebaron has always ran good. one day I hit a large pot whole and the car stalled. Since then the star starts and idles fine but wen I am driving and I turn the car to the left the engine dies....

It sounds like the float setting changed when you hit the pothole. You could open it up and set the float but the best method may just be a new carb.

You may have a bad alternator. Car died while driving, either gas or fire. if you know about MAFS your should know how to check starter function by jumping solenoid to large post of battery. Check for 12V at the large post on starter. Then try to jump the two connections. If car cranks, I would check ignition circuit for faults.

95 Pontiac Grand Am GT V6 just died wont start? starter is good, dont know if alternator or what?

If the engine will not crank, and the battery is fully charged, the only thing in play is the starter circuit. The ignition and alternator do not get involved until after the engine is started.
If the engine died and will not crank, you would need to check for voltage at the starter with the key switch in the start position.
You may need a manual with wiring diagrams to trace the circuits.

2003 toyaota camry 2.4 liter died while driving. now it wont start just crank over. replaced the starter cuz autozone said it was weak. now with new starter it still wont start.

inside the distributor c ap there is a mechanism I cant remember its name its a electric chip like unit that promotes spark they just go out unexpectidly . I had a honda this little happened to ask auto parts store about this unit inside distibutercap.

Engine died while driving..

Hello Friend,
Pull out the spark pugs so, there is no longer compression. Put a wrench on the crankshaft pully. The engine will turn and the pistons will travel up and down. This is of course it the engine hasn't seized. If the engine turns its the starter. Simple.
