Question about 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

4 Answers

I have a shattered passenger side mirror on my 2007 Ford Explorer XLT. It is an adjustable mirror with puddle lamps. I need to know how to remove the center piece of plastic that attaches the glass to the frame and motor that would adjust it.

The mirror is broken off of the portion that just pulls out. How do I get that plastic portion out. I've tried needle nose plyers but I can't seem to pull it out.

I would like to know how to pull out the piece of plastic broken off the back of the mirror. The piece that attaches it to the frame. I've tried needle nose pliers and can't quite get a good enough grip to pull it out.

The area where you push the mirror into the motor socket is where my problem lies. I cannot remove the plastic piece that snaps into the motor socket so I can replace the mirror.

I believe there is a slot to put a screwdriver and pry the center plastic off. If I get a chance I will look at shop manual tomorrow at work.

The mirror portion just pushes in and pulls out
the entire assembly, "the mirror, motor and all", bolts inside the door and you have to remove trim to access the nuts and electrical conector

I need to replace the mirror of my 2007 Ford Explorer XLT as it was hit and knowcked off, hanging by the power wires. this is he Passenger side door

You can access the inside mounting bolts by removing the panel just inside of the passenger mirror...the electric plug can be unplugged without any other changes...Your mirror is of course available through your local Ford dealer...you can also try the internet to find a like new replacement mirror and head assembly...just type in 2007 Explorer passenger side mirror...Also, your least costly replacement is available at your local salvage yard...some allow you to browse, and remove yourself...(good practise before scratching yours...some yards will pull the mirror for you...you might even find the exact color...salvage yard mirror heads (electric) go for $25. to $75. Sounds like you have a good start...Hope this helps.

2006 Ford Explorer XLT the Blower Fan only works on 4 and 3 Sp

Look under the dash on passenger side and just to the left of the blower motor housing you will see the 4WD control module.Remove the 2 screws holding the module and let it hang down and your resistors are behind this.Remove the 2 screws holding the resistors and remove.
Now I am assuming you have manual climate control and not electonic.

Replace passenger side power mirror clearance lamp (bulb only).

If you are facing the passenger side mirror adjust the top (large) mirror so that it is turning in towards the truck as far as it will go. Then look behind the mirror in the bottom righthand corner (outside bottom corner) and you will see a silver metal clip. Take a straight head screw driver and push on that clip and the lens will pop out. Then you simply unscrew the bulb holder from the lens and replace your bulb. Good luck!
