I use my ranger for working outdoors. I would like to listen to the radio with the doors open so that I can get tools etc in and out. How do I stop the beeping noise from leaving the doors open and the radio on?

Just remove the chime. listen to it to locate it under the dash, and just dissconnect it, it easy to do but remember theres no warning if you leave the key in it or if you leave the light on by mistake. i removed mine long time ago it drove me nuts. hope this helps.

Eeron, when did the radio stop working, before or after you replaced the battery? It is possible that the radio has an internal short that is drawing power( even though it no longer works) and that is killing your battery, find the radio fuse in the under dash fuse box and remove it to confirm this. If your battery doesn't go dead you'll know that that was the problem.

1999 Ford Ranger radio is dead. Any ideas?

Sounds a lot like it's been under water.
I found unplugging things 1 at a time and reconnecting shaves the corrosion off. Check the Earth wire as well. Door sensor sounds like it's slightly out of alignment.

Radio

I'm assuming that you lost elec power to the radio? If so, check fuses first.
Not sure about 96, but the 2000 has a small plastic door in the side of the dash when you open the driver door. If you do have power, then try AM and FM etc...might be antenna connections. There is something strange about the electrical routing with some of these models - like the engine computer is routed through the radio? Don't quote me - keep searching -and good luck.

My 1995 ford ranger pick up speedometer, radio, break lights, wipers and turn signals dont work

On the ford ranger wiper motor not working, this is how u fix it. I am a licenced autobody mechanic for mercedes and my son bought a ford ranger and of course the wipers were not working-neither did the dome light and door chime.I told my son too replace all fuses ,switch and motor. And still nothing.Remove radio there is a pcm in behind- ours was unpluged. When we plugged it in the door bell would not shut off and the dome light stayed on. In stead of unplugging the pcm remove the light if wd40 does not work on the door latches. And to stop the door bell ringing remove the plastic cover around the ignition and their is a single wire with a blue connector just remove the wire it is the wire closest to the key and tape up the end and problem solved guarenteed . my email is frameman127@yahoo.ca I will walk u through it .

Car door problems

Check the hinges force the door open and check the hinge and hinge pins. If those are bent then they will need to be replace. Also besides banging out the door there is not a lot that you can do but take it to a body shop. So I would do the hinge thing first ALOT cheaper
