How to fix power window, mirror or door locks on jeeps

On jeeps there is a common problem with the windows, door locks and power mirrors not working. If one or none of these items work on your jeep here is a good tip and 90 percent of the time this is the fix. On jeeps there is a rubber housing inbetween the drivers side door and the fuse panel with wires in it. If you are having problems with all the windows not working unhook the battery then roll the rubber back and look for a broken wire or wires. If there is a broken wire or wires, and there will be, strip the wires and reconnect them with wire connectors. If it is only happening with one door lock or window there is a rubber housing on each door do the same steps on just that door. This will happen and cause either the widows to not work at all or just roll down and not up.

There is power to my electric windows on my 2006 HHR, but they will now roll down.

You need to take off the inner panel on the door to actually see what is happening. My guess is that something has broken, like a mechanical connection from one point to another.

None of the windows or just one?

I have replaced the wiring for the windows and they still dont come down how can i find the parts to fix the problem? what should i do none of the windows roll down

It is important to look at other possible problems for this. One common solution to this issue is to check the fuse box. When there is a power surge in your vehical, fuses are used to stop the overload of power from damaging your electronics. There could have been a power surge in your vehical that caused the fuse to blow. Even if you have replaced the wiring, the window motor may still be bad. If you have a burnt out window motor, it may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

Windows will not operate on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

window relay module probably went bad. theres a window relay under the dash you have power . try getting a wiring diagram mabey at an auto parts store or the library. so you can trace the problem down . short of taking the doors apart and checking the motors that drive the windows . Old fix with the old school cars bang on the doors from the inside with fist . it sometimes works the connections on the old school cars . Its stupid but it worked to get the window up .

Windows won't roll up

turn the truck upside down and roll them 'down ' again.....
or,,,, test powers and grounds to the switch cluster master at drivers door..then at each switch at each door, after fuses are checked and are good....how do you get them back up to check if they go down?....by hand? hard to believe ALL are bad but this could be the regulators and/ or motors at each door failing

Possible window fuse blown?

if the fuse is blown none of the windows will work,it sound wierd but all the power to the window motors runs through the drivers side switch. the drivers side switch may be your culprit.to be sure check to see if you have power goin in to the other switches before you replace the drivers side switch.
