Question about Dodge Ram 2500

1 Answer

Sometimes on start up it will idle really fast with black smoke, but this will only last a few minutes. Some more times it will run a little rough for a while. the truck has 230000 km, had 6 new injectors and new fuel pressure sensor last year, new fuel filters, new lift pump this month and some more sensors. the garage are saying that #5 injector is showing a fault

2002 forester CEL on (EVAP Leak) and stalling at start?

If it were a large leak, the vehicle would idle fast, then the iac would reduce to stabilize the issue. We have had a few units needing the tank system smoked. Was this a part of the smoke job you received?? There is a bleed or purge valve in the rear which is hard to smoke and tell if it is defective. With out the entire values, it would be very difficult to diagnose over the net.
Good luck

Ahhhh!, if only we could turn back the hands of time. Is the vehicle sending any signals like blue smoke through the exhaust, or using a lot of oil. Possibly running on after the ignition is turned off. These are all indications of high milage wear internally. Rings, bearings, etc.etc. Low oil pressure? Blinking oil light when at intersections. Any of the above?

Black smoke when i start engine, very rough idle.

sounds like possible a sensor went bad or is loosly connected. O2 sensor??? Also check the air filter. Sounds like whatever it is, is making the truck run rich----that would be the black smoke.

Hope this helps

0340 is camshaft position sensor and the other 0325 is the knock sensor. Chances are you need to replace the sensors and good to go.
