Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT
Did this happen right after your "Tune Up"? Sounds like you have an intake leak. Check to see if all the vacuum hoses are connected - or if there are any hanging loose - even check for cracked hoses .
If you can follow your air cleaner tube to the engine, make sure all the electrical plugs are connected to the throttle body , and that nothing is keeping the throttle stuck open.
Sounds like you need to take it to another mechanic?
