There are two hoses coming out of the compressor, the fatter is the Low Pressure line/hose, it goes from the compressor to the firewall, the Hi Pressure goes from the compressor to the condenser, the coil in front of the radiator.

If you are going to add R134a Refrigerant to your system, the charging hose will only fit the Low Pressure service port. the Hi Pressure port is different.

Do not overfill system, get a refrigerant gauge at the auto parts.

With the car running and the ac on high. Put the can fitting on to the low side of the ac line and open the can the Freon will be pulled into the sys and charge the unit. Most do it yourself kits will only fit on the low side of the ac. Hope this helps.

O4 nissan maxima is blowing hot air from AC unit, i had leak repaired. Could it be a bad Ac relay or Compressor?

what was replaced?? to fix your issue??need more info. I have 04 max my self and very common issue is the low side ac line leaking. you need to look at the front of the ac compressor if the whole thing is spinning with ac on. if the whole clutch is not turning and the pulley ONLY is, than the ac is not turning on and it could be several things. anything from low charge, to low side pressre switch issue, or major leak somewhere.

No pressure on the low side of ac unit. 1987 nissan hardbody

That's how ac works you should have high side and low side if suction (low) is to low then you are low on 134a go to parts store and get a can to recharge system.

What is low side in ac unit

the low side is the larger hose that goes back to the compressor.
the high side smaller line comes from the compressor to the to
the condenser ( or the unit in front of the raditor ) on any units
with r-134 from the factory the low side has a different fitting for
putting in freon. some high sides don't use any hose connectors
because there is a site glass in the line where the high side would connect.

How do you tell the high side and low side of ac/unit. when no red or blue caps are on both missing.

the low side is the larger of the 2 hoses from the AC compressor, also the low gets cold the high gets hot.

Recharging ac on 2001 hyundai sonata gls

No picture to show you, but it's on the right hand side in the engine bay either near the power steering pump reseviore or near the firewall (or somewere inbetween). Anyway, chargine the AC system is done at the "HIGH" side port (not the low side). I assume when you say 'fill' the unit, you're talking about "Charging the System with Refrigerant'?

A/c recharge

The low side of the ac unit is the evaporator side which is the inside of the car area. depending on the year if it uses r12 refrigerant it will be the larger fitting of the 2 on the vehicle. The low side fitting is located in the line or on the dryer which looks like a small can near the firewall . If it is a r134 system it should still be the larger fitting but will require the special adapter to attach to the fitting
