I would definitly try replacing the oil, also make sure nothing is loose and have the front end and the suspension checked also.

Check the fluid levels. Start the engine and leave in 'park'. Find the transmission dip stick (back left as you face the engine). Fluid on the stick should be healthy clear pink/red with no smell of burning. If Brown with burnt smell this means change the fluid and filter immediately. If low add extra transmission fluid (check hand book for type) via the dip stick tube a pint at a time until maximum limit is reached.

My 2004 xj8 jaguar is having transmission problems.when I get up to 30 miles the transmission fault comes on it makes a grinding noise jerks.when i cut off and cut back on it stops and does it again

you need to get the fault codes out of the the tcm.ie, transmission control module with a scan tool suitable for your car. i think you have a problem within the gearbox or its control module, the fluid level and condition ie smell of burn {which indicates slipping clutches etc} should be checked first, which could indicate.mechanical problems the control module in your zf auto box is within the gearrbox, i dont think there is a self fix answer to your problem you need expert help, hope this was helpfull to you. cheers.

Why dose my my car make banging noises going around roundabout and bends and

sounds like a suspension problem as weight being transfered around the suspension so get the springs and shock absorbers checked , easy check for shock absorbers, bounce car on each corner ,if car stops smoothly then ok but if continues to bounce after you've stopped bouncing it then the shocker is worn , get the springs tested at a garage as will need specific equipment etc

Repair of auto gear

If you are getting 18 miles per gallon you are doing very well. The normal MGP is 14-17 miles per gallon, so no problems there. Is the transmission fluid at the proper level? When was the last time your transmission fluid was changed?

Audi A4 Auto, Gear changing trouble

Did you change the transmission filter? Sounds like no Front pump pressure. dirty filter will cause cavitation of the pump and damage to pump. Damage to cutch packs will occur too. Do not run until investigating filter, make sure o ring or grommet in valve body is present for filter

C230 k mercesdes auto gear box not changing from "1st"

I think checking the transmission fluid level, and perhaps a fluid change with a filter change would be first step.

However, with only 68K miles on your vehicle, seems like too low of miles for the fluid & filter to be in that bad of shape unless you are driving in extreme dusty conditions, pulling a trailer, or other harsh conditions.

Is the dodge intrepid 2000 v6 2.7 a good car on 136000 miles? thanks

I have this car and it is very good on gas and a smooth driving car. Watch your temp gauge closely though. If the water pump goes it will lock up the whole motor. And at 136,000 miles you may want to have the water pump changed if you buy it just to be safe. I am not exactly sure what it was that causes this, but my dad is a mechanic and bought my car w/ a locked motor and that was the problem. He put another motor in and the car has been great, but we have seen a lot of these cars w/ this problem.
