I had a jasper replace engine installed about 18 months ago, at that time of replacement, the car seemed to have just a little lack of power when going uphill. Now, you have to downshift into 2nd gear just to get up any incline. Car runs prety good on the straight and level. I have been trouble shooting it for about two weeks off and on. Replaced egr valve and fuel filter. Tried a new distributor which didn't help either. The car is very rough now even in idle. You have to hold your foot on the pedal to maintain a reasonable idle. Any suggestions?

Was the engine a long or short block ? Did the old engine fail with bad bearings, and excessive oil consumption? Rod through the block?Does car have well over 100,000 miles?
Plugged converter? Timing belt off a notch? Ignition timing not properly bypassed through computer,before adjusting ignition timing! Tps switch open! Fuel nozzel defective if equiped with throttle body injection,vacumn to pressure fuel regulator,also for fuel injectors or multi fuel system. give me some feed back!

Do you have any check engine lights on? Most diesels have a safety feature that shuts down the engine and puts it in "limp mode" when there is a problem somewhere . It will stay in limp mode till repaired and the code cleared. You should get a code with a diagnostic.

Where do i get v6 engine 2000 v6 engine

Yolu need another engine,do you plan on keeping,if so then a Jasper engine is what you want,I have a 85 Nissan 720 truck with the 2.4 engine,got a Jasper engine over 6 years ago and have 41.000 miles on it,it came with a 3 year,100,000 mile warranty,you will have to find a local Jasper installer to get,I did,still runs like new.Here's a link to the Jasper Engines.com site,they are nation wide. http://www.jasperengines.com/index.php

I blew the engine. Is it better to scrap the car or have a new engine installed?

Depends,I have a 85 nissan,see my icon,silver 4x4,The engine and carb.went bad,I replaced both and that has been over 3 years ago and it runs better than new.I also replaced transmission,it is pricey,I bought a new remanufacturd engine with 3 year and/or 100,000 mile warranty,The weber carb. was new,transmission was a new remanufactured with a year warranty.Are you wanting to keep car a long time,if so,but check price first.Find a asa certified mechanic to install,I used Jasper Engines,check them out.
