Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler

1 Answer

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler and here's my problem. My headlights start going out after I use the dimmer when meeting on-coming traffic at night. Do you know what could be a possible solution?

It seem that your dimmer has blown out. Try and check it.

the whole dash's wiring comes through the headlight switch, this switch contains a rheostat (an adjustable dimmer for the dash lights), which are notorious for going bad due to their static type operation, chances are it needs a new switch.

The headlights on my jeep will not work. The lights are not burnt out and I just installed a new dimmer switch. After I installed the switch, the lights worked for about a week then they stopped working. ...

The headlight switch loads the dimmer switch either the headlight switch is bad or there is a connection problem either on the headlight plug or the dimmer switch plug.
Sometimes if the plug is partially melted or bulged it tells you that the connection has been arcing inside plug.

Under the dashboard to the right of the stereo is the headlight relay. It may be in need of replacement. Also in the fusebox has a circuit breaker rated for 7.5amps could be heating up and creating the flicker of lights. My first guess would be the circuit breaker. Your welcome

1990 Jeep Wrangler Problem:

1990 Jeep Wrangler. Driving with lights on for 10 - 15 minutes. First the dash lights go out followed by the headlight and tail lights. If you pull the dimmer switch back (like you would to flash your brights at someone) the head lights will come on and as long as you continue to pull back on the dimmer switch the head lights will stay on bright.
