Sounds like a poorly grounded antella,or a loose connection at the back of the radio. or a poor ground supply for the radio.

Radio lights and channel selection change are all normal, so it's not an electrical ground or an antannae (no cd sound either)....no sound from am/fm radio or cd. I heard this vehicle has a separate power amplifier after the radio and maybe it is that, but I know nothing about where it is or how to service or verify function. Any help would be appreciated.

Radio sound low and squeeky, works good in summertime

The volume control on your radio is called a potentiometer, which may be going bad. It works better when its warm because materials expand as they warm up and make tighter contact with each other.

It is also a possible a bad wiring connection exists. Poor contact will cause static, poor audio quality and intermittent output.

Your radio will have plug type connector(s) Your speakers will most likely each have two wires with single female spade connectors of different widths (keeps the polarity correct) the wire with the stripe (of whatever color) will be connected to the negative (-) speaker terminal.

So you need to check all the connections, one is making poor contact.
If both speakers (assuming you have two) sound good or bad... then start with the plug connectors for the radio and any independent black ground wire coming out of the radio.

If one speakers sounds okay check the connections on the other one. You check the connections by carefully pulling the speaker wire off of the speaker and then carefully pushing it back on making sure it feels tight and secure.

PS: If you pull the fuse for the radio, the radio will have no power and will not work. The radio coming on proves the fuse is good.

PSS: Your owners manual should provide lots of information on your sound system components.

Ingterior lights, clock and radio memory won't work on 1998 isuzu rodeo when key is not on

The radio receives power from the 15A AUDIO FUSE in the dash fuse box. The radio memory receives power from the 10A DOME LIGHT FUSE in the same box. The problems you note suggest the radio may have been misconnected at some point or there has been a fuse failure or there is a broken connection.

Radio and navi won't turn on. Tried looking for blown fuse but unable to locate one. Help.

It helps to state what radio you have.....So did you find the fuse and its good?and getting power or just tried to find it? Try fuse 11 and 13 for the Nav. Fuse 8 and 9 inside and fuse 4 under hood for BOSE SYSTEM. Fuse 8, 9 under dash and 48 under hood for non BOSE

I have no sound in my car..working just fine then nothing, no radio, no seat belt beeping,no beeping when doors open , no turn signal sound, no airbag beeping, no sound when locking or unlocking door, no...

Not knowing how you checked the fuses, I think they need a second look, maybe a continuity check with a multimeter which can often be done with the fuses plugged in. You can buy a digital multimeter for under $20 US and they are handy around home as well. You'll find them at Radio Shack, auto parts and home improvement stores or at other electronics outlets.

This sounds much like the 'accessory' fuse is blown or the contacts in the fuse box or on the fuse itself are corroded. The latter can be corrected by removing and replugging the fuse several times.

You could always check the fuse first if that was not done. Then check the connection at the radio. Good luck
