Need more info, what size engine? what model need that to send u the correct RnR of the upper plenum

here is the 3.5L version of removal:

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector
  3. Remove the air inlet hose from the throttle body.
  4. Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the PCV hose ,purge hose and power brake booster hose from the upper intake manifold.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the electronic throttle control .
    3. Remove the fasteners from the throttle body and cylinder head and remove the throttle bracket.
    4. Remove the wiper module, strut tower support and EGR tube
    5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the manifold tuning valve
      1. Remove the fasteners , from the intake manifold support brackets.
      2. Remove the upper intake manifold retaining bolts, insulation foam pad and manifold. Clean all gasket sealing surfaces.

I have 60 psi of compression on one cylinder in a 1997 Honda accord 4 cylinder what can I expect?


Usually the easiest way to tell is to remove the spark plug of the cylinder in question, put a few ounces of motor oil in the cylinder thru the spark plug hole, insert compression tool and crank over a few then reset compression tool and test. If compression rises then the issue is related to the rings being damaged and the engine will have to be tore down fully to repair. If the oil doesnt make much of a difference then the problem is probably a leaking valve or valve related issue. If you have the knowledge you can inject compressed air with that cylinder and see if you hear air hissing through the intake manafold or exhause manafold as that would support issue being with valves.

How To Change The Spark Plugs On A 2002-2005 Kia Sedona 3.5 Liter


You'll need to remove the oil cap and the 6 bolts holding on the engine cover. The front 3 spark plugs are pretty easy to replace. You'll need to unplug the spark plug wire from the coil and disconnect the electrical connector. Unbolt the 2 10mm bolts holding the coil to the valve cover. Twist the coil and boot back and forth and pull it out of the cylinder head. The spark plug is down in the head, you'll need at least a 6 inch extension with a 5/8" spark plug socket, a telescopic magnet will help get the spark plug out of the head. The back 3 spark plugs involve removing the upper intake and throttle body, unbolt the bracket to the throttle body, and the bracket bolted to the upper intake manifold. on the back side of the engine. Remove the tubing from the throttle body to the air cleaner box. Unbolt anything else bolted to the upper intake. Unplug electrical connectors to the throttle body and any other electrical connectors on the upper intake and remove the upper intake bolts. And move the upper intake out of the way, there are only spark plug wires on the back 3 plugs. Twist and turn each boot to aid in removing the boot from the plug. I would get a new upper intake gasket and consider replacing the wires at this time also. There are actually only 3 spark plug wires, so for what is involved to get to them, I would replace them. I have found alot of the wires will arc to the upper intake manifold.

IGNITION COIL REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
3.0L Engine
  1. Remove the wiper arms
  2. Remove the left and right side air inlet grilles
  3. Remove the wiper motor.
  4. Detach the power brake booster vacuum connection from the intake plenum.
  5. Disconnect the spark plug wiring harness from the ignition coil.
  6. Detach the electrical connection from the ignition coil.
  7. Remove the bolts from the ignition coil, and remove the coil.

To install:
  1. Installation is the reversal of the removal procedure.
  2. Tighten the coil bolts to 71 inch lbs. 8 (Nm).
  3. Tighten the power brake booster vacuum connection until snug.

valve cover removal & installation3.0L Engine
RIGHT
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the intake plenum and the intake manifold.
  3. Remove the spark plug boots from the spark plugs, and then the wires from the routing retainers. Make sure they are tagged for proper installation.
  4. Remove the rocker arm cover-to-cylinder screws, the cover, and the gasket/seals. Discard the seals.


NOTE Ensure all eight sealing O-rings are accounted for. They may stick to the camshaft bearing caps or fall into the oil return journals in the cylinder head.

To install:

  1. Install new valve cover seals. Lightly coat the new seals, including O-rings, with engine oil prior to installation. The oil application will assist in holding the O-ring seals to the valve cover.
  2. Apply a thin coat of silicone sealer at the front and back of the seals.
  3. Install the valve cover to the cylinder head, and tighten the bolts to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  4. Route the spark plug wires into the retainers, and install the plug boots to the spark plugs.
  5. Replace the intake manifold and the intake plenum.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
LEFT
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the intake plenum and the intake manifold.
  3. Remove the spark plug boots from the spark plugs, and then the wires from the routing retainers. Make sure they are tagged for proper installation.
  4. Remove the oil filler spout.
    1. Unlock the tab.
    2. Twist counterclockwise.

  5. Remove the rocker arm cover-to-cylinder screws, the cover, and the gasket/seals. Discard the seals.

INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

3.0L Engine
This vehicle uses a sequential multiport fuel injected engine. Fuel injector connectors must be positioned onto their appropriate fuel injector or engine performance and exhaust emissions may be seriously affected. Fuel injector connectors are numbered to match their cylinders.
  1. Remove the intake plenum.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove the fuel supply and fuel return hose from the fuel rail.
  4. Fuel injector electrical harness connector.
  5. Remove the intake manifold bolts and the intake manifold.


NOTE Mask off the ports to the intake manifold spacer. If foreign objects enter the engine, severe damage may result.
Clean the intake manifold sealing surfaces with a non-abrasive tool or solvent.
Do not damage machined aluminum surfaces or improper sealing may occur.

To install:

  1. Remove the masking from the intake ports.
  2. Install the intake manifold, and tighten the intake bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm), rotating the tightening sequence.
  3. Reconnect the fuel injector electrical harness connector.
  4. Couple the fuel supply and fuel return hose,. Tighten the connection to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).


NOTE Counterhold the connections to prevent damage to the fuel rail.
  1. Install the intake plenum.
  2. Connect the negative battery cable.

Do I have to take the top in take manafold off to tighten the lower intake manafold on a 1993 buick regal 3.8 L engine?

  1. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Place a clean drain pan under the radiator, open the drain **** and drain the cooling system.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly and the fuel injector sight shield.
  4. Disconnect the cables from the throttle body and mount bracket.
  5. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir.
  6. Remove the inner fender electrical cover on the right side.
  7. Remove the right rear crossover pipe heat shield.
  8. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail and from the cable bracket.
  9. Remove the alternator and brace.
  10. Remove the throttle body cable mounting bracket with the vacuum lines and disconnect the vacuum lines.
  11. Tag and detach the electrical connections at the throttle body and both banks of fuel injectors.
  12. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the canister purge solenoid valve and transaxle module and intake connection.
  13. Unbolt the power steering pump and move forward. DO NOT disconnect the fluid lines.
  14. Tag and disconnect the spark plug wires position lay aside.
  15. Disconnect the coolant bypass hose from the intake manifold.
  16. Remove the solenoid valve mounting bracket and power steering support brace from the intake manifold.
  17. Disconnect the heater pipes from the intake and front cover.
  18. Remove the alternator support brace from the intake.
  19. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the housing.
  20. Remove the thermostat housing and thermostat from the intake.
  21. Detach the electrical connector from the temperature sensor and sensor switch.
  22. Unfasten the intake manifold bolts, then remove the manifold as an assembly. Remove and discard the gaskets.
  23. If separating the upper manifold from the lower, proceed as follows:
  24. Remove the fuel rail and fuel injectors.
  25. Detach the coolant sensor switch.
  26. Remove the manifold end cap cover.
  27. Remove the upper intake manifold and throttle body assembly from the lower manifold. Remove and discard the gaskets. To install:
  28. Thoroughly clean all gasket mating surfaces.
  29. If replacing the upper manifold, proceed as follows:
  30. Apply a 1⁄16 in. bead of Loctite® Instant Gasket Eliminator 51845 or equivalent to the lower manifold mating surface. Make sure to circle all bolt holes.
  31. Carefully lower the upper manifold and throttle body assembly onto the lower manifold.
  32. Tighten the upper manifold retaining bolts to 19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm).
  33. Install the manifold end cap cover and the coolant sensor switch.
  34. Install the fuel injectors and rail to the manifold assembly.
  35. Clean the mating surfaces and install the intake manifold gaskets and seals. Apply sealer to the ends of the of the intake manifold seals.
  36. Position the intake manifold and apply a suitable thread lock compound to the bolt threads. Tighten the retaining bolts to 88 inch lbs. (10 Nm), twice, in the sequence shown in the accompanying figure.
  37. Attach the electrical connector to the temperature sensor and sensor switch.
  38. Install the thermostat housing and thermostat with a new gasket.
  39. Connect the alternator support brace to the intake.
  40. Install the solenoid valve mounting bracket and power steering support brace to the intake manifold.
  41. Connect the heater pipes to the intake and front cover.
  42. Attach the coolant bypass hose to the intake manifold.
  43. Install the power steering pump support bracket and tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  44. Install the spark plug wires on both sides.
  45. Install the belt tensioner pulley and tighten to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm).
  46. Install the power steering pump.
  47. Connect the vacuum hoses to the canister purge solenoid valve and transaxle module and intake connection.
  48. Attach the electrical connections at the throttle body and both banks of fuel injectors.
  49. Install the alternator and brace.
  50. Connect the throttle body cable mounting bracket with the vacuum lines.
  51. Install the right rear crossover pipe heat shield.
  52. Install the cables to the throttle body.
  53. Connect the fuel lines to the fuel rail and mount bracket.
  54. Install the inner fender electrical cover on the right side.
  55. Install the coolant recovery reservoir and upper radiator hose. Fill the cooling system.
  56. Install the air cleaner assembly and the fuel injector sight shield.
  57. Connect the negative battery cable.

Where are the coils on a 2002 kia sportage? (are they under the intake manafold?)


I guess you are referring to the spark plug coils, they are on the center of the motor head. Remove the TPS metal tube,unscrew the center cover and you will see them.

Own a 1997 mercury grand marquis. went to change the spark plugs and didn't see the normal rotor, sparkplugs, etc. where are the plugs located and how do i change them


The 4.6 does not have an traditional distributor. This year engine should have two coil packs located on the front of each valve cover. Each coil pack controls four cylinders. Some of the plug wires will cross over the front of the engine in a wire loom on top of the alternator. The spark plugs are located down in the intake manafold. they run beside the fuel rail on each side of the intake manafold where it joins to each head. You will need an extention at least 8 to 10 inches long to get at the spark plugs. The plug wire fit snuggly into the intake manafold and have an extention on them that connects to the spark plug.

Want to change the spark plugs do i need to take the manifold off


Best investment to buy for this car is the break down book (Chilton or Hayes) That will tell you everyting you need to know. but...just did this on my car. have to start by removing the throttle body and disconnecting the 2 cables attatched to it. Then the bracket attatched to the manafold for the throttle body. next remove the air intake assembly. Now with all that out of the way. remove the 2 bolts from the metal tubing for the thermostat. I believe theres like 7 or 8 visible bolts on the intake manafold it self. Remove those. Then theres 2 that are kinda tricky to get to. Damn Mopar for this...one is on the right side as your looking at it back twards the fire wall almost and the other is on the left side, same situation. Need a universal joint socket adapter to get to those. With all that removed, it should come off fairly easy.

What is the easest way to get to and change a coil pack on a 05 ford escape


Depending on which motor you have will determine how to change the pack. I am not familiar with the 4 cylender motors but I assume that they are in the open. If you have the V6 then you are in for a little work. There are 3 packs in the front of the motor that are easly accessable. You will see them right on top. The other 3 are hidden under the intake manafold. If you are certian that it is a pack from under the manafold, Cylenders 4,5, or 6. Then do a search on how to change the spark plugs and you will find a very good page on how to get that manafold off. You will need new upper gaskets after removing the manafold. The new pack, and you may want to throw a new set of spark plugs in while you are there. If you have close to 100k miles on it then I would recomend that you change them while the intake is off.

This is a outstanding question!!! The plugs or wires are not visible from the top or sides of the moter. You just can't see em'!!! You have to remove the large black plastic air intake. Then remove the intake manafold(not too hard to do) to access the spark plugs and wires.
Also: After removing all the black plastic air intake stuff, you'll have to remove the coil pack (long black plastic thing that says "Ecotek" on top). The coil pack is removed by disconnecting the wire connector on the driver's side end and then removing four bolts. To lift off the coil pack, you'll have to pull upwards firmly and evenly from both sides, because the spark plug boots or wires are holding onto the spark plugs as well as the coil. With the coil pack removed, look down into the silver channels - there's the plugs. To remove, you'll need a plug socket head and a socket wrench with long extension. To replace the plugs, I use an extra or old spark plug boot to hold the plug and get it started turning into the engine threads. Good Luck!
