Question about 2003 Honda CR-V

2 Answers

I have a terrible vibration on my Honda CR-V 2003 at high speed. I felt the vibration in the front when speed goes to 120 km/p. I have replaced the broken cv inner boot a week ago. I'm very confused right now and i dont know what to do. I have read lots of discussion about to solve the problem, Change the tires and have it balanced, replace the axle, change the wheel bearings etc. Can you help me PLEASE! Thank you!!!! Jon

If you just replaced the boot and not the cv joint itself then that could be the problem.

SOURCE: roar from front above 20 mph

Have you checked the wheel bearings in the front, there may be a possibility that the bad cv axle may have caused premature bearing failure and thats where you noise is coming from. Hope this helps.

If the wheel is in balance and there is no other signs of what is causing the vibration than yes that cv joint should be chk. Is the strut ok? might want to chk. that too.

does it vibrate at highway speeds or sitting still at idle? the highway speed vibration could be tires out of balance. the idle speed vibration could be weak engine mount or idle speed too low.

If it's an AWD model, check the rear differential to body mount bushings on top of the rear diff. And get your tires rotated and balanced.

1998 honda crv vibrates when starting out

Increased vibration from a vehicle indicates worn out engine supports. This vibration often disappears when revving the engine high, but is very noticeable at low revs.

You can have these inspected and possibly replaced to reduce the vibration cominf from your engine.

Hope this helps.
