Hi! Usually, the relays are located under the hood in line on the passenger's side fender. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

In the fuel tank. I believe it is on the drivers side. Just follow the fuel fill hose from the gas cap down. I believe there are two straps that hold the tank in. Remove the tank and the pump is in the top of the tank.

Hope this helps! If so PLEASE vote! Thanks!

Sorry! I misread that. I thought that you were looking for the fuel pump. The relay is under the hood on the drivers side. There is a box that says fuses on the top I believe. It is in there. Owners manual should tell you which one it is.

its the one that clicks when you turn key you should then hear a whirling sound at tank if not then your relay needs to be replaced

The engine computer must be working to get spark and fuel injector pulse. I would want to know if the computer has power and is functional. The computer grounds the EEC relay and the fuel pump relay as well as the injectors.

Im lookin for the fuel pump fuse in my 2003 ford ranger

Hello,

In your power distribution box in your engine compartment (Ford recommends

disconnecting your battery before servicing fuses / relays in PD BOX )

fuse # 9 - 20 amp mini-fuse for fuel pump relay and RAP module

relay # 5 - is the fuel pump relay in your PD BOX

also , the fuel pump inertia (shut off) switch is in the right front passengers

footwell by the right front kick panel.

Thanks..

My 86 ranger won't crank. Seems like fuel pump is broke

Ensure the battery has a full charge, then have someone stand by the fuel tank filler. Turn on the key, listening for the pump to run. If not heard, check for blown fuel pump fuse and/or bad fuel pump relay.

2000 ranger fuse diagram

Fuel Pump relay switch is in the main box usually located on the drivers side Fender in a black box. According to the owner's manual in the power distribution box in the engine
compartment (Ford recommends disconnecting your battery)
Relay # 5 is the fuel pump relay , and also in the PD BOX is a 20 amp mini-fuse
for the fuel pump relay + RAP module in location # 9

( P.S. - don't forget your fuel pump inertia switch , in the right front passenger area ,
by the right front kick panel )Sometimes this gets kicked by passenger or if the car is bummed hard it could set this item to shut down fuel system. Best of Luck

Ranger fuel problem

There is a fuel cutoff switch on the passengerside floorboard, towards the right kick pannel, there will be a little red button on top of it, check to see if that is tripped, also when you turn the key to the on position listen to see if you hear the fuel pump prime up, just a short buzzing noise from the underside of the cab, if you dont hear it, that is a good indicator that your fuel pump maybe bad, i would also check the pressure at the fuel rail, chrome or black colored bar located near the fuel injectors.
