Why does the air conditioner on my 2003 nissan altima only work on position 4?

If you mean the blower only works on high, it could be the resistor that cuts down the power for the other speeds.

Cutting out after oil change

As I remember years ago I had a Nissan Pick Up and every time I was changing the oil it was cutting out. What I have done just I was filling the oil filter with oil and on crank start the oil switch was off immediately and the vehicle never cut off. looks like it has something like a protection sensor and act when the engine is without oil even with few seconds.

Hi, the gauges on my altima all stopped working then about a mile later the engine stopped as well but you can cut it off and it will start back it is a 2001

Sound like you are saying the RPM gauge dropped then a mile later the engine stalled and was able to restart you can be looking crank sensor beggining to fail and it usually fails on the freeway without warningcansmo_126.gif

you may need crank sensor which is located on the back side of the engine by the r/h axle where it goes into the tranny.

When driving, the car is jumping and will cut off

Your timing is off, need new alternator, or get the free Nissan recall done where they reprogram the computer to run at higher RPM.

blower motor resistor is located between the blower motor housing and evaporator housing.you have to remove glove box to get to it.

My 2005 Nissan Altima loss power while I was driving down the street, the next day it cut off at a light, it takes a few seconds to start, but always starts

the 2.5 altima's had a recall on that problem about 2-3 years ago. Go to edmunds or progressive find the recall letter and the dealer will fix it free. well here you go:

section_opened.gif Recall ID # 07V527000 - ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Recall Date: NOV 14, 2007 Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Model Affected: ALTIMA Potential Units Affected: 653910 Recall Details Recall Date: NOV 14, 2007

Model Affected: 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA

Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE, THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CAN OVERHEAT CAUSING A BRIEF INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL OUTPUT FROM THE SENSOR.

Consequence: IF THE INTERRUPTION IN THE SIGNAL FROM THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS SO BRIEF THAT THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) LOGIC DOES NOT HAVE TIME TO DIAGNOSE THE CONDITION, THE ENGINE MAY STOP RUNNING WITHOUT WARNING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT A LOW SPEED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ECM FREE OF CHARGE. CERTAIN MY 2006 ALTIMAS WHICH HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY REMEDIED UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN 06V223 (NISSAN R0606) ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL SINCE THE REPROGRAMMING FOR 06V223 ALSO INCLUDED THIS REPROGRAMMING. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 31, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Potential Units Affected: 653910

Notes: NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.
