Question about 2005 Ford F 250 Super Duty

1 Answer

One glow plug was out for about a couple months now two more have gone out. Do they generally go out one by one or could it be something else thats messing up my glow plugs?

My OBD II tester says that there are problems with three different cylinders glow plugs. I was wondering if there was anything else, for example like the distributor to the spark plugs, that could be going out?

How do you know how many are out? The system should be checked, but I would replace them all.,, and then check it.

I'm not too familiar with those but they need to be repaired before you have any more go out, or you wont be able to get it started in the mornings.

Will not start, now that glow plugs light stop coming on. All the glow plugs could not have gone bad. checked all fuses, they are good must be an igniter box error.

Check the glow plug relay.. If you have no power to any of them then this is your problem. You are correct that all will not go bad at the same time.

Hi,
I would recommend disconnecting your glow plug relay if you are going to use starting fluid.
With starting fluid in the engine and the glow plugs turn on it may explode the fluid and do head damage. Starting fluid and any kind of ignition source ( hot glow plug ) is like a bomb.

Glow plug problems. Engine won't start.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have a 2000 Hyundai Galloper (basically the same car) and I am having the exact same problem. I have replaced the glow plugs 3 times in the past 12 months.
