Does the driving on overdrive mode cause high fuel consumption, because the transmission use the first three ratios mostly?


Driving in overdrive, say on a trip where your speeds are over 65 to 70..Actually saves gas, but using overdrive to drive around town not only uses more gas, but can cause damage to your transmission.

I have a exesive consume of gas in my 2003 lincoln navigator any idea why?


low compression - load --speed --timing -tyre pressure - (auto )-transmission not selecting over drive- blocked exhaust- add on bits (roof rack etc)-dragging brakes--hand brake not off properly- wheel alignment- plugs -high tension leads touching each other----just to think of a few, so take your pick

Which problem do an 1nz engine haavee for it to consume alot of fuel


engine consume lot of fuel.clogged air filter.low tire pressure.faulty emission control device.dirty fuel injectors.heavy foot on accelerator.lot of short stops like driving in the city.running AC will consume gas.high mileage engine low compression assume lots of fuel.slipping transmission.weak ignition.driving up steep grades or mountains burns more fuel.

Haig consumer combustible


old mitsubishi are known for high fuel consumption
other than replacing the sparks and checking for oil, i cant think of an easy way to fix

make sure you dont have an oil or gas leak

High fuel consumption


The fuel pressure regulator or the Mass Airflow sensor are common problems with the 240, and will cause these symptoms.
