Broken spark plug coil bolt

If it is broken off below the surface you will have to try to drill it and use an easy out tool. And it may be frozen in the threads which is why it broke with you.

How do you change spark pulgs in 2004 f150 v8

Remove coil wiring and one bolt 7mm loosen and remove with a magnet dont drop the small bolt. Slowly twist coil back and forth and pull at the same time removing coil DO NOT Remove spark plug if emgine is HOT. YOU must blow out all durt and sand from out around spark plugs if you dont sand and durt will fall into engine. Then brake loos spark plug if plug dosnt come loos DO NOT fors it. Us lite oil wd40 or atf 6 or 8 drops. and work plug back and forth until you work it loos and remove it you must tack your time. Do this with hand tools only! (Not air tools). To install new plug us a rubber hose 3/8 fuel line will work 6" long to start the pluge in the hole then tork it down. (DO ONE AT A TIME) tack your time I like motorcaft plugs no come backs.

A freind of mine try to change the spark plugs , and broke of the plugs in the head, how do you get them out?

have fun with that, i did on my dad's 04 f150 the problem is, the tips of the spark plugs are down in the combustion chamber, and gets seised up by carbon (bad design), first you gotta order a special tool from Ford, its basically a tap and dye set that you have to get them out with, but first let the engine get cold, then take some lubricant and spray in there, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Take your socket and slowly screw it in and out about a 1/8 of a turn. do this several times, but they will probably break anyway. You will have to use the special too to drive into the part of the spark plug that's left in the head, then change the tool and drive it out. I highly suggest you use anti-sese when you put the new ones in. I think the tool is called a Ford Tri valve spark plug remover, if you have access to AllDataPro, its on a TSB

How do you change spark plugs on 2003 ford f 150 supercrew cab?

each plug has it's own coil you have to remove them and pull out the boot to get to the plugs. small hints have a shop vack handy you will have dust grass leaves ect. around the plug you will want to **** this out before to pull the plugs. Change the boots since you have it out. Trust me i have a 2003 F150 Supercrew FX4 5.4. wil take about 4 hours to do it right.

Is it true on 5.4 06 that you need a special tool and only ford can change the spark plugs

Yes it is true.

The special too is to remove a broken spark plug.

It is not recommended to do anything to the spark plugs until 100K.

If your not a mechanic spend the money go to the Ford dealer and let them address this issue.

It will be worth it not to need to pay for a tow truck.

Hope this tip helps.

I have a 2006 F150 with a 5.4. I have a engine

First remove spark plug. #8 plug is, if sitting in truck, left rear plug. Have someone crank engine while you hold spark plug, connected to plug wire, ground plug to ground. Check spark. If no spark, remove plug wire from coil, connect test light from coil to ground, see if you get spark, if no spark replace coil. Leave cylinder #8 open to air to dry any unburnt fuel in cylinder.

Lifter noise.

since the 4.2L is a push rod engine, you have the 4.6L or 5.4L which the valve train system is the same. The lifter can be removed without removing the camshaft by using two special tools that can be purchased from any tool house that sells special tools in your area. Tool 1 is a spacer to prevent the valve from traveling too far (damage to seal), Tool 2 is a valve spring compressor, that uses the camshaft as a fulcrum to depress the valve and spring enough to remove the rocker assembly, use a plastic pen to determine piston location before using the compressor tool, you want the piston approximately 1-2 inches below TDC, once the rocker assembly is removed the lifter can be pulled out the top. It is very improtant that the rockers and lifters be kept together by location (ie. exhaust number 3 rocker and lifter together) and installed back in thier original positions. If you can not get the special tools, then the only other option is to remove the cams. Hope this helps, let me know
