Replacement part number for multi-funtcion switch crusie control/ wiper arm 89 Dodge Dakota with tilt wheel. Can't find the part number.

2001 dodge dakota .....no intermittent wipers, chimes all the time, no parking lights ,no low beam, bright lights flicker as does the dome light, wipers & horn go on occasionally by them self.


could need a NEW MFS "multi Function Switch" Or Ignition switch sounds like a wire came loose some where and its having a ground issue.

their should be a wiper relay in the system check also at the wiper switch

Need to check windshield wiper motor and its removal on 1989 dodge dakota pickup


Remove Wiper Arms,Metal Grill, Nut on Motor Arm,3 Bolts holding wiper motor.
Dealer has a reman. About $59.00
Remove mounting plate from yours. 3 bolts,turn in old core at dealer

2002 dodge dakota. Wiper timer problem. More info... started when I hit the wash button. Usually the wipers will go for a few seconds... then turn off. They stay on. I changed the wiper motor, switch in...


The problem here is the wiper motor itself, theres a cuircut board on the back of the motor, this is what goes bad and controls the wipers, you will need to replace the motor to replace this board, i think they should be replaced in a pair,this will solve your problem, , hope this helps.

I need instructions for replacing the turn signal multi-switch on my 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT.


  1. Remove the negative battery cable.
  2. If you have tilt remove the tilt lever.
  3. Remove the upper and lower shroud.
  4. Remove the lower fixed column shroud.
  5. Move the upper shroud enough to access the back of the multi-function switch.
  6. Remove the tamper proof Torx screws (Snap on TTXR20B2 bit or equivalent).
  7. Gently pull the switch away from the column to access the screw holding the instrument panel wire harness connector to the switch.
  8. Disconnect the connector and reverse to install new switch.

yes it just threads in look for a flat section down by the column where it screws in this is the best place to put a small wrench and turn it,should come right out after a few twists.

I have the same problem with my 1989 Dakota. I found a part: A-1 CARDONE Part # 40387 which is listed as a Wiper Motor. Is that the same thing?

remove wiper arms and then you can raise the hood to remove screws that hold down the vent panel.
now carefully remove vent panel.
