When the coil went out did it make any buzzing noise? My 99 4.2l won't start and the coil is making a humming or buzzing sound when I put the key in the auxiliary for about 3 seconds. Nothing happens when I turn key to start.

Truck died going down the road replaced crank sensor coil pack and timing chain spark is red not a blue color could it be the ecm truck cranks but wont start

If it is indeed a spark issue. You might have to replace the Ignition Module. On the other hand... check the throttle body to make sure that it is getting fuel... if it's not, you might just need to replace the fuel pump.

may need 1 0r more coil packs replaced,or it could be what happened to my 2000 4.6---1 lifter expanded out and wouldnt collapse, causing the rocker arm to fall out of place and the valve could never open...try unplugging 1 coil pack at a time while running and listen for a change in the way it runs,if there isnt a change then its probably a bad coil pack, find a cylinder that runs and swap the coil packs,if no difference then its probably the valve staying shut.

I suspect the coil pack for one of your cylinders. Ford uses a spark plug cap with a electronic coil pack attached to each plug. I have repaced three on my 2002 F150 so far; Its a common problem

Where and how many timing belts

Ford explorer 4.0 liter motors have 2 timing chains. If they don't rattle, leave them alone.
