Have scanned for trouble codes, could be dirt in a fuel injector or a weak/bad coil.

Are you sure you ran out of gas? You may have a bad fuel pump. Are you getting gas to the injectors? Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the ignition switch on?

I have a 1999 ford escort SE 2.0 4 cyl. Lately she has been idling rough like she is trying to stall out on me and now it also does it while i'm driving every once in a while. but if I put it in neutral...

Your problem might not be engine related, it could be due to a bad torque converter or a bad solenoid in the transmission. The solenoids are around $35 and usually bolt to the outside of the transmission. Your transmission works on vacuum so if the solenoid is bad it could cause some problems such as trying to be in overdrive gear when it should be in 1st gear. This could cause the engine rpms to drop and difficult when you shift it out of park or neutral into Drive. Have it checked by a reputable shop. Shouldn't cost that much and it probably isn't an engine related issue.

Engine wont stay running. Please help.

change the filter first. IF the pumpwas bad it wouldnt start at all. It could be going bad but the only way to really test it is to pull your gas tank and at that rate you may as well replace it.

you could have a clogged injector causing the lack of fuel as well. you can try injector cleaner, Lucas is my personal preference I use it at every fill-up. 4-6oz per tank of gas depending on your tank size.

96 Jeep cherokee ran out of gas, re-fuel, won't start. No spark.

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.

Help w 1994 chevrolet truck

This injector set-up needs a specific fuel pressure supplied to the fuel rail to even start, much less run properly. The fuel pump is immersed in fuel inside the gas tank to keep it cool and not burn up. Running the fuel level low causes more heat in the pump and interuptions in proper fuel pressure. AC/Delco pumps have proven to be a reliable fix, the aftermarket pumps only last for a month or two sometimes. Check fuel pressure under the hood and power and ground to fuel pump at electrical harness at top of gas tank. This truck needs a fuel pump.

If the car has over 100,000 miles on it, you may need to replace the distributer. I don't think the bad gas caused this issue I think it may just be a coincdence. But if you already changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor, I would definetly check the distributor.
