Question about 2004 Nissan 350Z

Open Question

I have a 2004 nissan 350z with 70,000 miles on it. It is an automatic that has never had an issue before. Today while driving at about 20mph it shifted really hard followed by the slip light coming on. The A/C then began to blow hot. After shutting the engine off the car would not start, it would turn over however. After sitting for a few minutes the car did start with the A/C again blowing cold and with the slip light turned off? Any ideas to what the issue may be?

SOURCE: TCS/SLIP & Check Engine Light Warning

TCS is Traction Control System, and all TCS's are controlled though the Anti Lock Braking (ABS) system. Here's how it works:Each wheel,or in some cases, only the drive wheels have a speed sensor mounted near the hub or axle, and sends a speed signal to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). The PCM monitors wheel speed continuously, and if it sees a speed out of the ordinary, say for example the right rear tire is spinning and traveling at a much higher speed than the left rear, the PCM will pulse the brakes through the ABS system on the right rear to slow down the right rear so that the left and right wheel speeds match up,this is how the traction control works. So,if you have a TCS problem, the PCM will see this and set a Dignostic Trouble Code (DTC).You need to pull the DTC's out of the system with a scan tool, diagnose and repair the DTC's.It could likely be something as simple as a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor, but you won't know until the codes are pulled out,as this will point in the general direction.Good luck.

SOURCE: cooling/heating ( Nissan 350Z 2004) Irregular blowing of only hot Air0

This is a redundancy thing in the climate control system. You'll want to take the console apart and check the connectors behind the climate control panel. I was installing a stereo in mine, and when I started the car (with the climate control disconnected), it did exactly what you're describing.

SOURCE: The speedometer on my 350z stopped Working

See if there are codes stored, pull them and start from there.

It may just be a bad vehicle speed sender to the speedometer.

Code p0455 evap emission (large)

have the gas cap tested or just replace it, then disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the code, then drive it for a few miles and see if problem comes back, if it does a trip to the dealer is in order, as this may be covered by your emission warranty which is good for 70,000 miles.
