Check the brake light switch (location pedal) unplug the switch & bridge the wires & if the brake lights come on the switch is faulty. all you are doing by bridgeing the wires is bypassing the switch. What is SLS?

The brake lights do not want to work. i have changed the brake switch under the dash and the bulbs on the tail lights.still nothing. i also, changed fuses.

does the high mounted brake light work? the brake switch has 2 contacts one for the high mount (LT BLUE/BLACK) and one for the tail brake lights. The tail/brake light wire is LIGHT BLUE. the main connector between the brake light switch and the tail lights is C208 which is located behind the rear seat, left side. So if there is power coming out of the brake switch OK and no power at the tail lights, check that connector. Hope this helps.

You may have a problem with the brake light switch. This switch is located under the dash next to the or on the upper part of the brake pedal.

Yea..if you can locate the fuse for your brake lights, pull it till you get on the road again to an auto repair. The most common cause would be the brake light switch and the noise you heard could very well tie in

Sounds like your brake light switch has gone bad. It is located on your brake pedal and is easy to change and relatively inexpensive. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Change my brake light switch

The brake light switch is located on a bracket towards the top of the brake pedal. No other location. As long as you have the proper testers and tools to do this job, you can do it yourself.
