No, but ck belt for wear. twist belt (with hands) to check for cracks. There's nothing more aggervating than having a belt break in the middle on nowhere. Let a mechanic put it on for you, it's worth the money.

No the timing belt is unrelated to the serpentine belt which drives the water belt, power steering pump, and a/c compressor.

SOURCE: how to install timing belt 1995 sonata

YOU NEED A CHILTON REPAIR MANUAL.BECAUSE YOU NEED SPANNER WRENCH AND A LIST OF INSTRUCTION HOW TO REMOVE AND INSTALL THE TIMING BELT.I BEEN A MECHANIC FOR 23 YEARS I NEVER TACKLE ANY TIMING BELTS OR CHAINS WITH OUT A REPAIR MANUAL.REPAIR MANUAL IS A MECHANIC ROAD MAP LOST WITH OUT IT.SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH TIMING BELT TENSIONER LOOSEN THE TIMING BELT TENSIONER BOLT.INSTALL TIMING BELT ON THE CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET AND WHILE KEEPING THE BELT TIGHT ON THE TENSION SIDE ( RIGHT SIDE ) INSTALL THE BELT ON THE FRONT CAMSHAFT SPROCKET.INSTALL THE BELT ON THE WATER PUMP PULLEY THEN THE REAR CAMSHAFT SPROCKET AND THE TENSIONER.ROTATE THE FRONT CAMSHAFT COUNTERCLOCKWISE TO TENSION THE BELT BETWEEN THE FRONT CAMSHAFT AND THE CRANKSHAFT.IF THE TIMING MARKS BECAME MISALIGNED REPEAT THE PROCEDURE.INSTALL THE CRANKSHAFT SPROCKET FLANGE.LOOSEN THE TENSIONER BOLT AND ALLOW THE SPRING TO TENSION THE BELT.TURN THE CRANKSHAFT 2 FULL TURNS IN THE CLOCKWISE DIRECTION ONLY UNTIL THE TIMING MARKS ALIGN AGAIN.NOW THAT THE BOLT IS PROPERLY TENSIONED TORQUE THE TENSIONER LOCK BOLT TO 21 FT LBS.

SOURCE: I just replaced a water pump on a 95 Bonneville

There are a few things that will cause what you are describing. 1 used too much silicone on the gasket and when tightened down it broke the gasket(very common) or 2 the intake gaskets are a common issue on these engines or 3 the heater pipe's o ring could be leaking. Let me know if you need anything else.

If you had no noise prior to replacing the water pump then the noise will be at the water pump. Remove the belt and turn the water pump by hand and you should feel the noise. I suspect fan bolts too long or water pump bolts not fitted in the proper holes and hitting on the pulley. If the problem can be felt in the shaft of the water pump I would take it back to whoever fitted it and have them re do the job as it may be that the impellor is hitting on the inside of the engine housing water jacket.

How to remove water pump from a 95 Mighty Max

Assuming it has a 3.0 liter V6 engine, you'll need to remove the front of the engine off including the timing belt. If you are to replace the pump, replace the timing belt with tensioner too.

I hope this may have assisted,
Tom

Need to install water pump on 95 lebaron but cant find it

3.0 liter?

The water pump is timing belt driven. It is located behind the timing cover. Once the timing covers are off it will be in the top center of the motor. These are no picnic to replace.

Timing belt broke on our 95 z34 monte carlo. Is this an intreference motor? And do i have to replace the water pump, or can i get to it w/o going through the timing belt again?

If the car is a 95 it should be a freewheel non interference. if it's a late 95 or 96 then it is an interference. You will need to replace guide pullys and the tensoner. I will worn you it's a real pain to do. no room for your hands
