Question about Kia Sedona
Thge console selector switch on the kia's is a common problem, also the fuses and relays should be checked along with the a/c system for a full charge of freon 134a.
Sounds like you may have back fed the electrical system when charging...did the battery cables sopark from improper polarity?
If so you need to get yourself a 12v test light and start testing the systems fuses and relays for power to locate the one or ones that may have blown out.
make a simple test first to see if all your vehicle accesories are working, in case you have for example door locks wont lock/unlock...or the power windows wont go up/down could be one fuse that blew that controlls the the a/c and the others, the ciagarette lighter, radio, etc.
If you find yourself getting in too deep i might recommend having it looked at by a mechanic with good electrical aptitude, and no matter who you have look at it only allow them one or two hours diagnostic time to try to pin down the problem so you dont get a phone call 6 hours later your car is done and it will cost $1500.00, by allowing diagnostic time keeps them at bay and keeps you informed of what is going on each step of the way, I recommend you stay by the phone as well because if they try to reach you and you are not there when the call comes in they will push out your car and bring in the next, leaving you to wait another day until they can get an approval to continue on with the repairs or the diagnosis at hand.
Hope this helps.

No way that the low battery fried the aircon unless it was running on low power which is impossible as air cons run only when the car engine is running and the battery is charging. Battery alone can not run an aircon. It is just that it happened now but there is no connection between the two. The fan/blower is running which will run even if the aircon is off. So, it means that the aircon is not running. May be there is a loose connection or a blown fuse. Check the fuse under the hood and replace it if blown.

First get the new battery voltage checked. It should be 12 volts.Check the connections of battery terminals. It should be proper tight and not loose.--------The low charge battery will not damage the ac.If the battery is low on its charge then in most cases the ac will not start or run weak but it will not get faulty. There might be a problem in ac only to confirm it.Just get the ac pressure test done.If the ac pressure is tested low then there is a problem of refrigerant in the ac ,get the ac recharged. The other possibility of low ac pressure is ac charge getting leaked. So confirm both the faults. If the refrigerant/coolant is low then ac will run hot or not run at all.But if the ac pressure test got checked OK then the possibility is that there is a problem in ac connecting parts. The radiator cooling fan and condenser fan needs to be checked. The coolant temp sensor needs to be checked. The ac heater blower motor and capacitor needs to be checked.Any of this is causing the ac to run weak or getting short so ac is not functioning properly. Also get the vacuum line checked. If there is any vacuum leak then also the ac will not run properly. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation
