Starter noise during cranking and after the engine fires is often a result of too much or tool little distance between the starter pinion gear and the flywheel. A high pitched whine during cranking (before the engine fires) can be caused by the pinion and flywheel being too far apart. Likewise, a whine after the engine starts (as the key is released) is often a result of the pinion-flywheel relationship being too close. In both cases flywheel damage can occur. Shims are available in 0.015 in. sizes to properly adjust the starter on its mount. In order to check and adjust the shims, you will also need a flywheel turning tool, available at most auto parts stores or from any auto tool store or salesperson. If your car's starter emits the above noises, follow the shimming procedure below:

SOURCE: FIND FUEL FILTER
all you have to do is take off the gas cap to help release the pressure and take the clips off on each side of the fuel filter and make sure you put the filter back on and the arrow in going toward the front of the car.

almost every rear drive drive full size used the 305 V8, so u can get an engine from a Buick La sabre, Pontiac bonneville and firebird, also Oldsmobile 88, and don't forget Camaro. any 305 chevy V8 will bolt in, also the 350 V8 will bolt in, this is a much better choice..

should be an easy DIY project. Remove the negative battery cable. remove the big nut on the starter selonoid, and remove the wires from the stud. Remove the nut from the small terminal on the selonoid and remove the wire. Remove the two starter bolts that hold the starter to the engine, these have 9/16 heads and screw in straight up. Sometimes these starters have a bracket at the back end of the starter, if so remove this bracket. Do NOT let the starter fall on your head it will hurt you!! I know this from experience( 6 stitches and a mild concussion)
