I have a 3 year old Mitsubishi Endeavor... I was told it is within specs that my car requires 1 quart of oil monthly (1800-2000 miles). Is this correct?

Thats crazy, no car 3 years old should burn a qt a month, unless it got a lot of miles on it , like over 130000 miles.it may be ture that they do but this means a defect in the building of the engine, try replacing the pcv valve, hope this helps.

1 quart per 2000 miles is OK. If you dont think it is, call the dealer or the Zone Service Manager. The number is in your Owners Manual.

I have a 2008 a4 audi, it uses 1 qt of oil between changes, is this normal

it is within factory specs to burn more than a quart of oil within 2500 miles it is also common with oil changes are done at small and quick oil change places that the oil is not filled to the max level making it look like it burns more than it does and not using synthetic oil as required asl makes a difference

I have a 2004 Kia Optima with a 2.4 liter engine. Should it use 4.34 quarts in a 3000 mile oil change cycle? We were told this is within specs for this car. It has 73000 miles on it.

its used how much ?? thats 8 pints of oil which is about 5 litres in 3000 miles whats it doing leaving a blue haze behind it ,i think this engine needs looking at as this amount of oil consumption will kill the catalytic converter

I have a 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor. In less than 1,000 miles it has burned a qt. of oil. It only has a little over 40,000 miles on the engine. This is the second oil change in a row that it was low. The...

no it should not burn oil...specially for a new car like that...the older the car gets...the more oil it burns...but you need to check the head cover gasket...
Good Luck!

Used 3.5 quarts of oil in 4000 miles

that is still within the factory spec for normal oil useage. one quart every 750 is considered excessive, i do agree that it should be less, but if this is a warranty issue u are out of luck, they won't do anything.

2007 GMC Yukon using a quart of Oil every 2000 - 3000 miles

Sounds funny, I would take it to an indepened repair shop and have them check it out, we have many customer's with Yukon and have not heard of that, I have a GMC with over 315,000 miles and between oil changes, maybe a qts low, have it check else where.

2008 mitsibushi endeavor using 2 to 3 or more quarts of oil every 3000 miles and dealer says this is normal and I know it is not.

Your right, this is not normal oil useage for any engine. The oil is either being burned in the combustion chamber and exiting the tail pipe, or it is leaking some place.

Using to much oil a 2002 accent with 76k. uses about a quart every 1k miles. dop i need to adjust the valves?

That's within acceptable limits according to Hyundai Motor America's standard: For a proper diagnosis, the amount of oil consumed over a known mileage should be checked three times and then averaged. The accumulated mileage divided by the total amount of oil added will give the consumption rate in miles per quart. If the oil consumption rate is greater than 1 quart per each 1000 miles, further diagnosis may be required.
