Question about 1999 Ford Escort

1 Answer

The passenger side headlight works sometimes but not always, I've changed the bulb and it works for awhile, but, keeps coming on occasionally. Hitting the housing of the light will turn on the light sometimes. Can you help?

1) pull the wiring socket off the bulb connectors and squirt some WD40 into the female parts of the connector. Give it a visual look and make sure it is not eaten up with corrosion. If the socket itself is bad you can buy a replacement at advance auto parts or autozone..

2) generally there is a wire coming from the socket grounded nearby. find that ground connection, take it apart, clean it and put it back together with a firm connection to the chassis.

My 2011 Chevy low beam headlight passenger side doesn't come on

Sometimes there is one bulb with two beams in it, other times each beam has a separate bulb. Replace the bulb that is not coming on as a high beam.

What is the cause of headlight flickering then going out

Quit changing bulbs and fix the ground. Always check the ground when have an electrical situation. ALWAYS first. It may look like it's connected, but the wire could be broken inside the coating and it works at first, then wire shrinks from heat, then relaxes when cooled down making connection again. Till it's turned back on.

Turn signal bulb was working, now it isnt

its is not uncommon for the contacts in the sockets to become corroded or just expand to the point of where they do not contact the bulb, try to test the socket with a multimeter for voltage,if it has voltage then its most likely the contacts, which sometimes can be rebent, but replaceing the sockets is a better solution, and can be picked up at most stores or 4x4 shops and junk yards.

Passenger side headlight won't work

This sounds like a wiring problem. I know it has been documented that the '01 eclipse headlight connectors have had issues with arcing and this problem sounds like the wiring may just be shorting instead of arcing. I would recommend starting at the bulb socket and working backwards along the wiring, looking for shorts along the way. It would also be important to note if your low beams do not work at all, versus working occasionally or even sometimes flickering while driving.

Audi TT Intermittent headlight

Did exactly as you said, replaced both bulbs with the d2s as you said and got them on ebay, driver side was clearly more difficult to put in, passenger side very easy, worked perfect for 1 day and the intermittent problem returned. What to do.

Changed passenger side headlight bulb, now unable to adjust or align head lights

Changing the bulb should not have affected the housing adjustments.

The bulb is just inserted into the headlight housing. The adjustments on the headlight housing is what adjusts the alignment of the headlights.

Did you maybe not get the bulb not seated correctly in the socket? Or didn't get the socket not seated correctly into the housing?
