Trace fuel lines from tank forward, there should be a cylinder shape object in the line with fittings on both sides.use 2 wrenches to loosen both sides. a flare nut wrench is best for the fuel line side (if available) make very sure you do not put undue pressure on the fuel lines as you loosen. simply place new filter in the open space and retighten the nuts

5.2 l i/2 ton lwb reg cab...I need to know if there is an external fuel pump and where it as well as the fuel filter are located. The truck will not start unless i put fuel in the throttle body and only...

There is no external feul pump, it is in the feul tank. Also there is no external feul filter, it is in the tank at the bottom of the feul pump assembly.I owned one of these trucks and was not pleased by the location of the feul filter either. If you can find a CARTER supplier they make a cheaper replacment that is same quality as oem.Good luck!

Hey I have a 97 Cadillac Cateria and I'm not getting feul to the feul rail could it be a clogged feul filter?

Clogged fuel filter, fuel filter installed with the arrow going the wrong way, or fuel pump bad.

Hesitation when accellerator is pressed. Already changed feul filter.

you may have bad plugs i would try that first changing them out or it may be a bad speed sensor or throttle posistion sensor.
