    Some will still have one, it's best to check under your car to see if there's one.

Removing catalytic converter


The catalytic converter, looks and if fitted to the system like a silencer box, some people have a pipe made up to replace the converter, straight swop, however it is illegal to run the car without the converter, it will not meet pollution regulations. Also your management light will come on.

P0430 Code is catalytic below threshold.What this mean is that you catalytic convertor is not at is optimum.Before you replace it you vehicle powertrain performance should be inspected.2 things degrade catalytic convertors one is mileage they do expire,and poor engine performance

The Oxygen Sensors (O2S) are attached to, and protrude into the vehicle exhaust system. Depending on the emission package, the vehicle may use a total of either 2 or 4 sensors.

Federal Emissions Package (4.0L and 4.7L engines):
Two sensors are used: upstream (referred to as 1/1) and downstream (referred to as 1/2). With this emission package, the upstream sensor (1/1) is located just before the main catalytic convertor. The downstream sensor (1/2) is located just after the main catalytic convertor.


California Emissions Package (4.0L engine):
On this emissions package, 4 sensors are used: 2 upstream (referred to as 1/1 and 2/1) and 2 downstream (referred to as 1/2 and 2/2). With this emission package, the rear/upper upstream sensor (2/1) is located in the exhaust downpipe just before the rear mini-catalytic convertor. The front/upper upstream sensor (1/1) is located in the exhaust downpipe just before the front mini-catalytic convertor. The rear/lower downstream sensor (2/2) is located in the exhaust downpipe just after the rear mini-catalytic convertor, and before the main catalytic convertor. Check engine is still on after replacing all 4 oxygen sensors on my 1995 jaguar Xj6?


I had the same problem. Had to replace the catalytic convertor. The JAG one is very expensive, but my local machanic 'built' one and it passes emissions tests and runs ok now.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say your catalytic convertor is damaged. Do not drive this car. A damaged convertor can ruin your engine or catch on fire.

CATALYTIC CONVERTOR - BANK 2


You have a V6 engine, bank one is the row of cylinders on the passenger (right) side, bank two is the row of cylinders on the drivers side (left). Your codes indicate an inefficiency in the cat on the left side but this could be due to a bad O2 sensor or an engine that is out of tune and overloading the cat. This car seems too new to have a bad cat. I would change the plugs and the O2 sensor after the cat before going any further. The reason I say the O2 after the cat, it's the one that is critical in sensing cat efficiency. What is the mileage?

recheck wires all back on to sensors,sounds like one is loose or terminal connector block has a broken wire behind the rubber cover
