The parking brake is activated by the shift lever. There is no parking paw in the transmission on these John Deere Chassis motor homes. The parking brake is the type that works a brake on the drive shaft. I ran into the same problem and just put a line lock on the brake line.

Parking Brake Light won't turn off, Cruise Control won't engage

Get down and look at parking brake assembly, If you see an electrical connector, unplug it, see if that helps? If it doesn't help or causes other issues just plug it back in.
Of course that isn't the proper fix. If something wrong with parking brake assembly, get it checked out.

How much transmission fluid does an 89 f150, automatic, AOD tranny take?

Hi Kris, The recommended ATF is Dexon 11. If you have drained the system fill with three quarts of ATF and then drive the vehicle for ten to fifteen minutes to achieve operating temperature and then park on a flat surface, select the parking brake and place the selector level in each of the gears for about three seconds and then leave in neutral. Check the transmission dip stick. You will notice four marks, the upper two being the marks for an engine which has reached operating temperature. Top up if needed.Regards John

RV c6 transmisson stuck in park

I think you may be fighting the shift interlock with the brake pedal. Remember, to shift out of Park you need to step on the brake.
You might need someone to hold down the brake pedal while you try to realign the rod from underneath.

1990 ford truck cruise control - troubleshooting

Look at your speed control deactivation switch. It should be near your master cylinder. check to see if it's leaking. I think you have a recall 05s28 for the switch if its leaking. If it's not leaking, jump the two pin connector with a wire making sure not to ground it out. Drive it and try the cruise. If it works thats your problem.Good luck.

1990 Ford Probe 2.2 automatic stalls in forward, reverse OK

Sounds like a bad IAC (idle air control valve/sensor) that controls your idle when going from throttle to idle. If bad your idle will act crazy and can cause stalls easily. Pretty sure that's it.

Brake and parking lights

It has been my experience that the type of problem you describe is usually caused by a bad ground at one or more of the lights, or by a bad chassis ground. I suggest you first ensure that the battery, chassis, and engine grounds under the hood are good. If they are you might try pulling one lamp at a time to see if you can find one that when pulled, the rest work normally. If you find that lamp, your problem is there. Good luck
