You still have air if you have a mushy pedal. Try to bleed out all the wheels maybe 10 strokes of the pedal each. be sure not to push the pedal all the way to the floor, or you may have damaged the master cylinder. If you get any air , keep bleeding. If you think you have bled air out, but pedal is mushy still, go drive it and try to make the abs work, really try to lock up the wheels on grass or loose gravel or a dirt road, sometimes that will get the ABS unit to self bleed.

Abs light is on.. Checked parking brake and fluid both ok. What could it be? This vehicle is a Ford E-250 6 cyl.

The ABS warning is for all 4 wheels while the anti-skid is in general describing the rear wheels. The ABS can detect loose brake pads and other defects, like low fluid and loss of hydraulic pressure.

Most of the warning systems count the revolutions of each wheel. Some rear axle systems use a part mounted inside the rear differential housing instead of on each rear wheel.

You said you checked the parking brake. It is note worthy to say that the linings of the emergency (parking) brake often peel off the metal and get ground up inside the drum. For ABS with wheel mounted sensors, the dust can block the counting of the wheel revolutions and throw a code. Dust is perhaps the reason for the other axle designs using a sensor mounted inside the differential.

The Master cylinder can generate an ABS warning. Not being there its hard to say what happened. You might want to bleed the brake lines. Finding air foam would give you an idea that a leak is in progress somewhere.

02 Pontiac Aztek front passenger brake line to abs

Clean the surface of the ABS where the brake lines attach. Some are stamped beside each line connection with LF ,RF, RR, LR, master cyl input front, master cyl input rear if yours is a stand alone unit.Otherwise you will have to follow the line back from your RF wheel to the ABS unit to determine which connection is for the RF.

What's wrong with my ABS?

Random would be a broken wire. Read the codes to see which side. GM put hard plastic coverings over the wheel sensor wires. Follow it back, while bending and see where it is broken. Most likely the wire is broke there also. It could be several places in the harness.

My ABS light stays on, Can the ABS system cause my rear wheels to heat up? (To hot to touch) 2003 ford explorer.

Remove the ABS fuse to disable the ABS system . The brakes will work as NORMAL brakes and you will now see if the rear brakes heat up. They more than likely will as the ABS would not have any effect on the brakes in normal running situations.
Suggest take the vehicle to a GOOD brake shop and get them to fix the problem

Diff ratio. On a 1994 toyota 4 runner v6 petrol ??

4x4, 4 cyl, 4.10 ratio, ABS 4x4, 4 cyl, 4.10 ratio, w/o ABS
4x4, 4 cyl, 4.56 ratio, ABS 4x4, 4 cyl, 4.56 ratio, w/o ABS
4x2 (3.90 ratio), 2 wheel ABS 4x2 (3.90 ratio),
4 wheel ABS 4x4, 6 cyl, 2 wheel ABS, 4.30 ratio
4x4, 6 cyl, 2 wheel ABS, 4.56 ratio 4x4, 6 cyl, 2 wheel ABS, 4.88 ratio 4x4,
6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.30 ratio 4x4, 6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.56 ratio
4x4, 6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.88 ratio there are a few options. you will need to figure it out or look at the code panel in the truck. if you want to figure it out. you will need to remove the cover from that axle and count the two ring gears and then divide the numbers to get the gear ratio. for example if one is 40 and the other was 11. would be 3.72. so here is the trick to counting the gears. they are covered in oil so have a pan ready when you pull the cover. and use a marker or crayon and mark a tooth on the gear ring. then count the gears and you will know where to stop when you get back to your mark. the little gear will be harder since its in the back. you might have to turn the wheels and you will need it in neutral and jack the rear end up. as always use jack stands to prevent damage to you or the truck..

94chevy 1500 can't get the rear brakes bled

I had a experience with a car that REFUSED to let all air out its lines, and a friend of mine bought 4 vise grips, and gently grabbed the three hoses (from each wheel) that where not beeing bleed.
first he grabbed all four wheels, and notices a slight mush on the pedal and said that the master cyl was not properly bleed, he bleeded the cyl in a bench, then assembled the cyl and now the pedal was very stiff, then procedded to remove rear-right hose, and the pedal almost went to the floor, THERE WAS THE BUBBLE!, and bleeded acordingly, then reatached the vise grip on the OK line, and released the one on the rear-left, slight mush and bleeded, and so on. each time he tested for possibly air bubbles in each sector (master cyl, or lines, or caliper or aux cyl itself).
BUT!, IF your master cyl is NOT pumping fluid to the rear, probably the proportioning valve is broken (if yours has ABS, might the abs valves are dirty, and thus NOT closing and letting pressure go other way, because a failed abs pump SHOULD behave transparently, I mean , not interfering with the braking operation)
get quality FLARE WRENCHES, because the air bubble MIGHT not be right in the bleed bolt in the caliper/aux cyl.

I replaced the rear passanger wheel cylinder on my 2000 ford taurus and bleed the breaks from right rear to front drivers side and still have no breaks why

was the wheel cyl leaking? make sure there are no other leaks anywhere i see rusted out line on these a lot check down left side of undercarage fuel lines and brake lines run along there .if you have abs you should only have to bleed rears the front are on different valves no air can get in from a rear leak.If no leaks anywhere master cyl most likely
