Question about 2002 Ford E350

I have a 1994 ford e350 passenger van. when you take the key out the thing just turns and then the van chimes like you left the key in the ignition. i just move it until it stops and goes off, then open my doors to get out. is this the key ignition switch or do i have a bigger problem. thanks

By "thing" you mean the handle to the "igntion key" if so it need a new "lock cylinder" not hard to replace.

98 Ford Explorer. No chime sounds when keys left in ignition and driver door open. Also no chime that lights are on. Passenger door chimes when opened and key in ignition.


Bad door switch, or it may be dirty and "stuck" in the recessed position as it would be when the door is closed. I find WD-40 or equal is a good solution for this. Otherwise the switch's connections are bad (corrosion) or the switch itself is bad. More extreme is a break in the wiring to the switch and or connection near the fuse.

You may want to have the TCC (TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH INVESTIGATED). THIS IS ALSO KNOWN AS A LOCK-UP TORQUE CONVERTER. Controlled by the computer. Hope This Helps.

is your heater core hooked up, on most vehicles there are two hose on the left side under the hood that goes thru the fire wall if they are not there then that,s your problem bad heater core.

1994 Ford E350 transmission seems like it slips at 45-55 MPH.


If you went 1k miles since that same issue occurred I would look at the transmission. A faulty torque converter, clogged fuel filter, or a clogged CAT can cause a delay in the shifting but it would happen right away not 1k miles later.

i have a 2000 Ford E350 1 ton Van the heat works in front but blows cold air in rear. Would the problem be a blower heater switch and where is it? I hope I don't have to take off the whole dash.
