Should be a torx drive T-11 or similiar. Always best to keep a cheap set of these around to replace various parts on the vehicles, usually found with the driver and complete small Torx drive sets for like $5.99 at a thrift store that carries automotive tools and accessories.

Torx driver is the name of the set.

Be sure to get the handle with the torx drivers.

The tool looks like a "u" shaped wire. It has a small ball on each end. You need two of these, as they push into the four holes on the left and right of the faceplate on the original radio. You should see four holes at each corner, and you push the tools into the holes to release the radio. Almost any auto parts store should have or be able to get these, or try E-Bay.

I have a 1996 Ford festiva.. I have just put in a new battery and now the radio player is asking for a code.. I'm aware that if I find out the serial number I can get the code but how do I remove the...

most units have either 2 small holes in the dash panel or 2 very slim slots on either side of the radio. There is a tool that removes the radio and if you know a radio installer he will have the tools. Sometimes they came in the owners hand book for the radio.

Need to change timing belt in 93 ford festiva but know nothing about cars, only have enough money to buy the belt and was told I already have the tools

Changing the timing belt is something that usually needs done if it has not been changed and the car has over $100,000 miles. Most Festivas last for a lot longer than that. Mine is going on well over 200,000! All you need is the Festiva shop manual which you can find on eBay for about $10 to $30, if you hunt around and wait for a bargain. The manual fully explains every step and makes it easy if you are mechanically inclined. If you are new to auto repair, make sure you have someone who knows what they are doing check it for you, so that the repair will be safe and last. If you have a large library near you, its possible to find a Chiltons or other brand of repair manual that covers your Festiva timing belt repair procedure.

Ford Festive Radio Code

Check the your owners manual, if your lucky the original owner wrote it down when they bought the care. If not you will need to get the code from the dealer. You might even need to take the car to the dealer to have the radio unlocked. Some auto manufacturers have designed their radios to require a code whenever the battery is disconnected, in order to make the stereos worthless to theives, and thereby discourage theft. Ususally it just creates headaches for the owner of the vehicle.

Need code for radio new battry been fitted

The radio code may have been written down in the back pages in the manual, or if you have a great relationship with the ford dealer, they can get you the radio code for free a a small fee. If the dealer want's to charge you a crazy amount, try 0000 for a code and if that does not work try www.radio-code.com. There is a fee but not as much as the dealer, not sure but carfax.com may have you codes too.Good luck and hope this helps.
