I don't think it resets but if your car is running fine,I would just make sure all the fluids are good, oil, transmission, brakes, steering and fill the radiator overflow to the cold line with water and topp off the radiator if necessary. To check the transmission fluid, run the car about 5 minutes, leave it running, and do a few dips to make sure it is a good accurate reading. There are so many things which can cause that light to come on that you could easily spend thousands and have it still be on.Good luck! Probably, factory installed alternator has failed and vehivle is only using battery power.Suggestion:Start engine and check available voltage at battery with DVOM.SHOULD be 13.9 volts minimum and about 14.5 max.if not in range listed.please have alternator checked for failure.

Electrical issues with instrument power cycling when starting the truck.

Check grounds. Battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body. Battery to body will corrode. engine to body is usually the first to break.

How to reset the maintenece light on Honda accord 2007

1. Depress and hold the select/reset button on the right of the instrument panel beneath the odometer reading.
2.Insert the ignition key into the ignition to hold the select/reset button.
3.Turn the ignition key to the power accessory position. This will illuminate all the lights on the instrument panel without the engine running.
4.Continue the select/reset button until the maintenance required light goes out.On some year models. the light may blink once before going out.

How do I reset "Service Engine Soon" indicator light in the instrument cluster on my 1999 GMC Jimmy?(I am an auto mechamic and already change the motor oil)

If you’re not interested in diagnosing your car, truck, or SUV Check Engine Light, or it’s already fixed, and you just want the engine light out, visit an auto repair store.

Most stores will have a universal Check Engine Light Code Reader that can quickly and safely reset check engine light trouble codes. It should take about 30 seconds and is usually free..

Resetting the check engine light

On my 2006 you set the odometer to the normal odometer mode using the button on the dash. When you get that setting, hold the button down until the display flashes. Once it begins to flash, let go of the button and then push it again. The light should then go out.

Check Engine light on Acura TL 3.2 1999

You can turn off the Check Engine light by either disconnecting the battery or by using a code reader to clear the codes. However, if the problem still exists it will come right back on. Instead you should get the code read, find out what the problem is, and fix it. Your local autozone or checker auto parts store will read them for free.
