How to remove and replace main bearing in campshaft.


Firstly get the knocking checked out. Camshaft is more of a sharp rap / knock / clatter.
Why do you think the bearing is at fault. If the cam is knocking then its more than the bearing. It needs stripping and investigating. Before you do anything else get the oil pressure tested with a mechanical gauge. If it's low then you have all sorts of problems. Don't strip or spend anything until a correct diagnosis has been made. You have to establish why its knocking. When was it last serviced? Has it been overheated? Run low on oil? Its 14 years old. How many miles?

Toyota Tacoma heater will not blow hot air


-Check heater control valve. (The one open and closed water)
it should move when turn to hot or cold. If it move or turn.
-Next disconnect the heater hoses (Two lines) and flush with garden water hose from both direction for couple minutes.

You should be good for winter.

place crank at TDC. turn cam until all the valves over number one are closed. your valve train will now be in time. however there should be timing marks on the cam gear and crank gear, with the motor at TDC align the marks and your valve train will be in time. you dont have to have your valve adjusted, you can either watch you pushrods move or watch the valves move in an overhead cam application

My heat worked fine last night an today i start the car an the heat box is digital it say the heat is on but it pushs out nothing just alil cold air so i turn it on hi an it does nothing i dunno where the...


If the digital box is on, Your fuse and relay are ok, first check your heater core houses both had to have the same temperature, engines temperature, one of them has a valve with an internal door every time you press th e heat in you digital climate control, this valve move allowing hot coolant recirculate across your heater core then the blower give you heat, if this valve don't move then there is two reasons, valve stuck, or bad actuator, what you got to do is gently disconnect the cable from the valve and see if the valve move with your fingers , move it in opposite directions and in every try go inside the car and see if you have heat if you do the problem is inside the car climate control box or actuator, or broken cable.

2003 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN WILL NOT HEAT


Your problem might be that the Heater valve(located under the hood by the back wall, circle in blue in the picture) is not opening.
-Have someone turn the temperature knob inside the van slowly back and forth from hot to cold.
-You should seen the cable(letter B) (note:cable should be connected to lever on top of valve letter C) move back and forth as the knob is being turn.
-Check to see if the screw on top of the valve(color red on picture) turn back and forth will the cable and lever.
-if the screw turn very little o not at all. Valve is bad and need to be replace.

Where is the camshaft sensor located on a 1999 ford taurus


Please follow the Instruction below.

1.Disconnect the ground battery cable using a wrench to hold the terminal bolt in place as you loosen the retaining nut with another wrench.

2. Locate the accelerator cable next to the throttle assembly towards the back and top of the engine and remove the shield. Pull the retaining pins using a pair of slip joint pliers if necessary

3.
Remove any other accessories that might interfere with the removal of the camshaft sensor like wiring harness, spark plug retainers or engine cover, depending on your particular model.

4. Move the fuel-injectors wiring harness off the valve cover studs as well to gain access to the camshaft sensor if necessary.

5.
Locate the camshaft sensor around the top of the engine. For more information please click the link below.

6. Unplug the camshaft-sensor electrical connector by pressing on the lock tab and pulling the plastic connector off the sensor.

7. Unfasten the two sensor mounting screws using a Phillips screwdriver and remove the sensor from the engine compartment.

How can i test the EGR valve on my 89 G20 van? a guy said try disconnecting and plugging the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve and then what? if the engine turn off its ok? if not its ok? thanks for the...


You should be able to feel underneath it. With your fingers on the bottom plate unplug the vacuum and the plate should move and move again when you plug it back in. Pinch the line when you take it off. If it doesn't move it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

2001 Acura TL Climate Control Blowing only Cold Air.


Ok it may be that the heater core bypass valve isnt opening. All that valve dose is when you turn the climate control to heat it opens a valve that allows hot coolant from the engine to flow through the heater core. What I would do is check that. It will be on the left side (passange) of your engine bay.You will see two black coolant hoses next to eachother and one will have a black box with a wire that runs to it. Have someone move the climate control from hot to cold to hot back to cold. If you dont see the wire move then you can move it yourself to open the valve.

Let me know if the valve opens or not using the climate control.
