You'll need to drop the tank. Use a floor jack to make the job easier

I have an '04 Explorer Sport Trac. When my girlfriend went to start it today she said "check fuel pump" popped up on the screen then it died and wont crank back up. Any suggestions?

seperate the fuel line at the fuel injecter, turn the engine over if fuel comes out , more than likely it is not the pump, if you get no fuel, change the filter, try again, if no fuel most fuel pumps today are in the tank, drop tank change pump

1996 Eddie Baur 5 liter need to change fuel pump do I need to drop the tank?

Yes you do, the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank and the easiest way to pull it out is to drop the fuel tank. Good Luck.

ON A 1993 FORD EXPLORER WHERE IS THE GROUND POINT FOR THE FUEL PUMP? I HAVE NO FUEL PUMP OR FUEL GUAGE WORKING

Some times the wires in the tank burn up,Have you checked for a blown fuel pump fuse?It would be a good sigh of this. The fuel pump grounds off the tank, the sender, grounds threw the other side of the in-dash gauge.I would look for the whole fuel pump ,and fuel sender to have burned wires inside the tank.

1996 Ford Bronco Fuel Pump Replacement

A 1996 Bronco fuel pump is in the tank. The tank will have to be dropped. After that, it's quick & easy. The filter is on the rail, not so easy even with the line removal tools. Wear safety glasses in case of any pressure.

Ford explorer fuel tank change

this is pretty easy. You first have to remove the skid plate which is held on by three bolts then once you have that done you need to disconnect the fuel fill tube. which is the three inch tube coming off the back of the tank. next remove the breather tube right next to the fill tube. then you will see two metal straps holding the tank itself. their should be one bolt each on the ends you can see. dont worry about the other ends they are a tongue and groove type setup. once you have the one side off the side against the frame will slip right off. Be sure to have a jack under the tank so it dosnt drop on you. but once you have the tank down disconnect the pump by turning on the ring that runs around its top. You may have to put a piece of wood on one of the tines and smack it with a hammer to knock it loose. once that is done jack up the rear driver side of your truck and pull the tank right ou. put it back in, in the reverse order.
