1) Change the radio to one not requiring a code.
2) Contact the manufacturer of the radio for instructions.
3) If it is a Saturn ant-theft radio you can contact a dealer for instructions on how to get the code.

Original owner has lost Manual 4 now, so how can radio be activated till then.

If the radio requires a code to activate it you will need to go through a dealer get the code for your specific vehicle if it is still in their data base. You will need proof of ownership and the vehicle VIN. There is no generic code you can use or a way to bypass the security system which is why we have the system to deter the theft and sell off of our car radios by that band of complete low life rat bags out there who would rather steal the property of hard working people than work for a living themselves. .

Codes are not included in the vehicle owner manuals either they are supplied to owners separately.

How do I reset the security system on my 2002 grand am gt. I tried changing the factory radio and now my security system doesn't work

You can try this re-learn procedure, if that doesn't work you will need to bypass the security system. I hope you bought the wire harness adapter for that vehicle. They need it.

Perform the re-learning procedure

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
  3. Observe the SECURITY light, after approximately 10 minutes the light will turn OFF.
  4. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 10 seconds.
  5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes
  6. The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
  7. Start the engine (the vehicle has now learned the Sensor Data Code and/or password).

Honda civic gli radio replacement won't work

Dannielle, if the previous owner installed the radio, it must have worked. It is possible that error code may have no connection with the replaced radio which may work when connected to battery. It depends on the complexity of the new radio. If it is simple, s/b ok.

1999 saturn sw2 radio code

Yes.
If there is nothing in your owners manual from the previous owner, you may be able to get it from a dealer. Or they may have to reset the code for a fee.

2002 kia spectra radio My battery was replaced and now my radio won't work. how do i get my radio to work? Could you please explain your answer in eay to understand format. I've tried looking...

its possible the radio went into lock mode, this is a security feature in case of theft.you should have a code to enter when this happens.if you are not the original owner then maybe not.if you go to the dealer with proof of owership they can help with the code.

good luck

I am trying to install a replacment stock radio in my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am because the display went out on it, when I install it it shows that it is locked....any suggestions to unlock it?

These radios have a theft lock on them and if they have had a security code put in them by a previous owner, as soon as any power to the radio is disconnected they go into a lock mode. You need to use your hr. and min. buttons on the radio to bring up the display and then enter your 3 or 4 digit code. The exact process to do this should be in your owners manual if you have one.
Unfortunately you will probably have to bring it to the dealership if you don't have the code.
