The computer will not allow the vehicle to start because transmission is overheating and it will damage it.

Dead Battery, same thing happened to me. Battery totally gone would not take a charge except from the tow-trucks equipment. New battery = no problem

My left side tail light doesn't work after changing the lamp. Jeep 2007 - Commander

it worked before the change out?
there are 3 things that are first. on advance electronics, cars. like this. 2007 is 1st year, of wild complexity.
  1. check fuses first. MIP fuse #8,9,10 (8 is left) check that?
  2. check action of park relay
  3. check for trailer wiring hacks (do you have factory hitch option?)
  4. and scan the PCM , do you see any park fail DTCs'
DTCs are system errors.
that is first.
next if not solved, we look in the FSM for that chapter, and the schematics, to see how its is structured. (varies by year, car)

FSM JEEP XK 2007 (book)
factory service manual.

left side rear tail (park) (tail is old name , car has many park lamps now , not just 1 or 2 tails like in the old days.
so it park and the relay of same name.
there are front parking lights too... do those all work>?

my guess, is you didnt check fuses first.
am i right?
fuse 8 is blown?
but that takes out front left park
and left side marker (park ) lamps too.
so did you look at all left park lights first>?

i bet not, if im wrong then you do have wiring errors.
or the new lamp from china is shorted inside, (common)
try one more lamp , like from GE or Philips.

My 2007 Jeep Commander's park assist stopped working.

take it in.
all magic when bad , requires that or buy the FSM and read.
you have 2 choices. get help or read the book.
did you get a full scan yet, to see if there are DTC errors stored.

I went to start my 2008 jeep commander and all these different system errors popped up......help please??

Would really like to help but iam clueless here as well,if i had motor in front of me and threatened it with my magic hammer then i might have a better idea ,reading your description over and over i think it may be a sensor on the auto box ?could be a wire off touching earth or a faulty temp sensor making it think its overheating causing it to go into limp mode or just shut down mode .No idea exactly where this sensor could be as all our motors are manual here in europe ,well 99% anyway

Hi there from what I can see this seems to be a common problem. I found this link to how one guy dealt with the problem. I hope this helps. The thread shows a common problem with some jeeps of this vintage.

Here is another. I hope this helps. You can always call the dealer if you don't want to go in for service.

What does "service park assist system" mean on my 2008 jeep?

The park assist system detects objects 59 inches or less in back of your vehicle, to warn u so u don't strike the object. I'm guessing that since the service park assist system comes on in the ice and snow, the monitor is detecting something (ice and snow covering the sensor). If u clean off the snow and ice, the message should shut off.

Is the hand brake working properly because if the rubber and springs used to brake the rear wheels is loose, the security assist system goes off and usually a bell rings and what not.
