Question about 1991 Chevrolet Camaro
I have had difficulty with this kind of thing since I have owned my 1991 camaro, back in 1996. First of all, the engine runs hot because the sensor opens the thermostat at a higher temperature. I fixed this by hardwiring the fan so that it is always on when the car is running. Second, I had to replace the water pump because it was not getting the coolant around the engine. Third, make sure your oil is not leaking out. Fourth, I have developed a leak in the gasket at the intake manifold, which is leaking coolant. I originally had a radiator that had so much **** in it that the coolant had trouble getting tot he engine. I believe that's what caused the gasket problem (just conjecture). The gasket will be taken care of during my smog repairs, which will be paid for by the state of California.
The latest thing that happened was that my battery and ignition decoder went out at the same time, causing clicking first and then not allowing me to start the car at all. With this ammunition, you can go armed with some things that may be wrong. Get a good mechanic, and see what he or she thinks (preferably someone who has worked on older cars and electronics).
