$1,000 to $ 1,800. Depends on damage. More if worn hard parts are required or it has a special torque converter.
If you pull it yourself, and do what is called, an over-the-counter,and take it in to a trans shop,to be rebuilt, about $1,100.

The cost repair of torgue converter / transmission repair codes PO 740-PO730

Your best bet is to go to a parts house and buy a rebuilt torque converter. Make sure you save the old one because they will likely require a core.

1993 lexus ES300 will not go when in drive

sounds like you have a major transmission problem. expect a big repair bill sorry!! if they deem the transmission to be shot, look online for a used or remanufactured transmission and see if it would be cheaper to replace than repair. I have a 1995 jaguar that would go in reverse but not in drive, cost to repair: $2700 cost for used transmission: $1000 and i put it in myself. had i not it probably would have been $1500-1700 but thats still a big savings. good luck and again sorry!

Transmission slips

If your transmission is slipping the first thing I would do is check the fluid level. If your fluid level is good then you may want to try a transmission additive such as lucas because that is one of the best ones on the market. However, if your fluid level is good chances are you will need repairs sometime in the near future. A slipping transmission is generally a sign of worn bands or clutches so you may be looking at a rather costly repair bill in the near future. The average cost of a transmission overhaul is around 1800 dollars. I hope this helps you out.

Cost to replace transmission 1996 cadillac deville

Hi there

The repair or replacement cost for this particular section of your vehicle will cost around $1,800 to $3,000; Depending on the actual type of transmission mounted. If rear wheel drive equipped; this will have a fairly decent labor charge attached to the actual part price. Typical Cadillac transmission replacement charges will run around $1,900 dollars. I would recommend to inquire about repairing the actual damaged sector of the transmission/transaxle, if possible. If catastrophic damage has occurred, total replacement may be needed.

SLIPPING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Your transmission needs repair. Since repairing transmission is not an easy job, ask first the service
center their repair cost, and compare it a new one.
If the repair cost is just 30 to 35% of buying a new one,
Then you may consider the repairing it. Otherwise, your
best option is buying a new one.

Told the chrysler sebring crank sensor needs repair.......and that transmission needs to be removed to do it in this car..........car will run fine then just stop...with no immediate reason...it is a 1999....

Because it's on the back of the transmission bell housing, where the transmission and engine meet, it is very difficult to replace. I have replaced one and also had a dealership replace them. The transmission was not removed. I would recommend taking it to a repair shop where they have the proper tools for this repair/replacement. It will cost around $300.00. Call around for prices.
