Brake light& battery light keeps coming on now car won't start

Anytime the battery light on the dash comes on is an indicator of the alternator not charging, resulting in a dead battery. Low voltage will cause other warning lights to come on as well. Replace the alternator and fully charge the battery before running the engine, to avoid full field condition with the new alternator ( overheating).

My battery light came on while I was driving..I just bought a new battery in December and nothing cuts off...the light is just on?

The alternator is most likely the problem here. The alternator has a diode out in the diode bridge, and is causing the light to come on,this is a warning that the alternator is failing, and needs to be replaced, this could cause the battery to discharge over night, and it will not charge correctly.

1991 ford festiva replaced alternator new

it is part of the alternator actually on a lucas unit, a small black box bolted to the rear of the alternator.

You may have a faulty ignition switch or a corroded engine earth cable causing the alternator not to reach charging voltage.

Battery warning light just started coming on, Mazda 2006 Tribute.I've had her for 39,000 miles/40months. Do I just need a ust need a new battery, or is there any history of electrical problems with the...

a battery waring ligth is not telling you that the battery is defective, it is telling u that the battery is not being charged by the alternator, have the battery and alternator tested to determine th4e cause, a failing battery many times can damage the alternator as it causes it to overheat, so if the alternator is in need of replacing then it is very important that the battery be fully charged and tedsted prior to installing a new alternator if indeed that is the final diagnosis.

New battery caused 'Battery" warning light to light? alternator?

I also have an ES300 and have replaced the battery. There are a few things you can check first. If your battery was really that corroded you might want to replace the battery terminal connectors with new ones. If they are loose(able to turn them with your hand, even if it requires a lot of force you should not be able to twist them with your hand) it could affect the alternators ability to charge the battery if its not making complete contact with the battery terminals. If you tighten the connectors all the way and can still hand twist them, then its time to replace. If the old terminals are fine you would at least need to clean them thoroughly due to the severity of corrosion from the previous battery. If its not charging the battery at all you might want to check the alternator fuses. Thirdly, a loose alternator belt can also cause the alternator to put out less volts, therefore not supplying enough power to run the necessary accessories causing the battery to be used while the car is running instead of recharging it from the jolt of juice it lost starting the car.. If its loose you can have it adjusted and tightened, if the belt is cracked or worn, have it replaced. Make sure to check that the wiring is all sound and not broken or corroded that connect to the battery. Make sure the ground wire is still grounded. If these things fail to solve the, it might be time for a new alternator. If you have autozones in your area they will run a free alternator check for you. Just go in and ask for one and they'll wheel out the machine to your car. (P.S. If your running any kind of additional electronics like an aftermarket amplifier or any other high drain device you'll have to install a high output alternator to accommodate the extra demand. A new alternator putting out the factory level voltage won't be enough even though it's brand new. Those can be obtained off of eBay.)

Had the Alternator replaced. Now the battery light

There is a inline fuseable link that runs from alternator to battery, check that first if ok it may be computer problem.
