yea fan work.. im not sure how well tho lik it seem lik it should turn on and it dont

  • Ted Schore Sep 03, 2010

The fan does not come on until the engine is like 225 -230f or so. When the a/c is on the fan shoud be on. When its on th eair coming through the radiator should be HOT, if its just luke warm the radiator may be partially plugged. If it has a V6 these have problems with intake manifold gaskets leaking.

How to bleed cooling system on a 3100 Buick Century?

If there is a bleed valve near the upper radiator hose, you can use that.
If not, you would have to run the engine with the cap loose until the thermostat opens to let the air escape.

1999 buick century..my temperature guage sometime goes in the red and then back 2 normal...once it does that it takes my car awhile 2 heat up

Hello! Replace the thermostat, it is defective...I would suggest flushing the cooling system with the heat set to high...Your engine requires Dex-Cool anti-freeze...It, due to electrolysis, has a tendency to "clump" blocking proper flow...Drain the cooling system...Fill with plain water...Allow engine to heat up and when the thermostat opens shut down and drain...Do this three times or until water is clear...Replace thermostat and refill with Dex-Cool...Allow all air to escape before installing cap...

The heat in my 1999 Buick Century stopped working

could be a vacuumn device in the heater system itself, or a thermostadt problem just above the water pump, unless you have more than minium experience with repairing autos, take it to a good mechanic, should be less than $100 fix.

My heater does not put out hot air, just barely warm. Replaced heater core last year. What else could it be?

Low fluid in the radiator, an air bubble in the Cooling system, the control valve not opening correctly due to low vacum or a damaged cable. There are a lot of possible solutions. I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle and check out the troubleshooting section in that manual.

Heater fan stopped working. Is there a fuse 1999 Buick Century

Actually there are 2 fuses. One is for the lower speeds and one is for High speed. Might be a relay, too. Check the owner's manual for the location. I believe the high speed one is under the rear seat.

High/low sensor switch location for 1999 Buick Century

Ros.....The heater motor is located under the dash on the right hand side (passanger side). You will have to remove the close out panel to access. The resistor you are looking for will be to the lower left of the fan motor at about the 7:00 position. Illustration is below.
let me know.

How to change a water pump on a 1999 Buick Century 3100?

the water pump on the 3.1 isnt to hard to change ...
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the drive belt guard.
  4. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts before removing the drive belt. This should help keep the pulley from turning as the bolts are loosened.
  5. Remove the drive belt. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.
  6. Remove the water pump bolts and separate the pump from the engine front cover.

The heater fan switch only works on the high setting

Generally this a problem with the blower resistor, but also check the fuse.
