To be honest, I don't have any experience with the 2.6, but from the sounds of it, you have coolant flow through the upper hose (which would explain why it's hot) and none through the lower hose (which is why it's cold). One resource you could check is www.vagcat.com - sign up (free) for your car and drivetrain, and it should show you everything you need.

Over heating, new water pump and thermostate

1. Check if the fan is working. If it is, is it working at full capacity?
2. The head gasket may be blown.
3. Did you bleed the coolant system? There's a bleeder valve on the thermostat housing; air will
cause your engine to overheat and air under the temp sensor will cause your engine to register hot.

Where is the oil pump on 95 buick regal 3.8 engine

It is in the timing cover. Never have seen one that has went bad. 20+ years at a buick dealership. Remove oil pan and clean out the pick-up screen, replace oil pressure sensor and use a ac delco pf47 oil filter.

My Jeep is overheaeting, I have replaced the

Try replacing the overflow tank cap, the cap can be pressured checked. If it can't hold the pressure, it will cause the car to overheat slightly or majorly. This is something that a lot of shops and people overlook. Is the belt tight, if not it won't turn the water pump pulley to keep water flowing correctly. Do you see water leaking from any area? Usually if the pump is bad or going out it has a (weep) hole that water will leak from.
