There is not really a wheel bearing. It is called a CV Joint. They are pretty difficult to change. If you do try it yourself then you will have to have it re-aligned.

A CV Joint, is part of the drive axle. The bearing is part of the knuckle. The bearing is pressed into the knuckle, a hub is then pressed into the bearing.

Im replacing the driver side cv axel and im having problems what would be the best way to do it i have a 1987 ford tempo

remove the wheel, brake assembly and center axel nut. remove the nut for the lower ball joint and separate the lower control arm , this might require a little effort, tapthe end of the axle with a soft faced hammer to loosen it and pull it through the hub then use a prybar and remove the inner shaft from the trans, be ready for a little oil spillage, intallation is the reverse

Front Wheel Bearings for 91 Tempo

You'd have to take the car to a shop, the front bearing have to be pressed in unlike the rear bearings.

I've had the driver side bearing go out, and now the passenger side is GOING out. But yeah, unless you have the machinery at home to do it, you'll need to go to a mechanic.

No fun I know. I've got a 92 Tempo

Front wheel on 92 ford tempo gl

Your hub assembly is worn out. Your hub assy. is another word for wheel bearing. Check your CV axle condition while you have it up in the air. If your outer boot is torn, replace the axle as well. Don't bother with replacing the boot, the bearings inside are still damaged.
