You can relieve the pressure by opening the bleeder valve which is on the wheel cyl or caliper.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 5.7 liter . O have difficulty starting my truck. Some times it starts fine but other rimes I have to pump the gas and wen it starts a small amount of smoke comes out.truck runs...

I have seen two different problems with symptoms like this. 1. A leaking injector. If one of the injectors is leaking a small amount through the pintle on the end of the injector it will bleed the fuel system presure off and dribble fuel into the cylinder, fouling that cylinder. When you try to start it the fuel that has pooled into the manifold will create smoke when it does start. And since the fuel pressure has bleed off to zero PSI in the fuel supply lines it will need time for the fuel pump to recover the system up to normal operating presure. Presure testing (bench test) of the injectors is needed to verify this. 2. A bad fuel pump, relief valve, or bleed-back check valve will bleed the fuel system presure off while it is sitting. To find out if this may be the problem a fuel presure guage set needs to be installed and then run the engine, verify the operating presure is normal, and then shut the engine down and watch the fuel pressure for exessive drop.

The leaking injector is more apt to create the smoke when it fires up, but both can cause this. I would start with check #2 first. Of course there are many other things that can cause symtoms like this but these 2 are the most likely causes.

Hope this helps, if you have any further questions just ask!

Oil presure guage jumps from 30 to 60 whats the normal operating range

Oil pressure should be around 30 at idle and then sit at 60 when engine is above 2,000 RPM. If pressure varies at all engine speeds it indicates a sticking pressure relief valve which is located within the oil pump. You could try using some oil flushing product in the engine oil before the next oil change to see if it removes the gunk that is causing the valve to stick. If that does not improve it you should see a mechanic about replacing the relief valve.

Low oil presure on gmc 5.3 manual gauge shows 0 psi at idle 20 psi driveing

Oh my!! I'm guessing the "oil pressure relief valve" is stuck open. Does the motor sound OK no knocking or ticking? The "oil pressure relief valve" is built into the oil pump.

2004 tahoe. Worked fine two days ago. Wont start but turns over. replaced fuel filter, now what?

check for spark and fuel at the motor! take one of the spark plug wires off and remove the spark plug and put the wire back on it and rest the spark plug on a negitive ground point and have someone try to start it and see if the is spark. to check to see if fuel is getting up there locate the fuel presure relief valve on the fuel rail that the injectors are connected to and while someone it trying to start it depress the valve and see if fuel squirt out.

I have a 1990 Jeep wrangler and the oil pressure is off the charts, it is so high that it ruins the filter and blows oil everywhere. will changing the oil pump fix the problem or create more?

Sounds like the oil presure relief valve is stuck closed. I do believe the valve is built into the pump but I would ask when buying a pump.
