Fuel should never come out, so you may have an fuel injector leaking/bad.

91 chevy cav z24 5 spd will not start @ times sounds like no fire other times sounds like no fuel.Replaced fuel pump, timing chain, crankshaft sensor, oil sensor, map sensor, body throttle accel sensor.st

Pull the air cleaner off and crank the engine. If puffs of air come come out of the throttle body when cranking the engine then the timing is not set correctly. Otherwise, after cranking pull a spark plug and see if it is wet with fuel and if so this indicates an ignition problem (coil, distributor/cap/rotor or faulty ECU).

Turns over like it is out of gas, won't start

Check fuel pump. Turn on the ignition an lesen for the pump to prime the fuel line. Fuel/Fire/Air the three elements required for combustion. You would usually smell raw gas fumes coming from the tailpipe when you crank the engine if you fuel delivery is working. A quick check to determine if you have a fuel problem: Remove the air filter and gain access to the throttle body, open the throttle plate and spray some starter fluid in the chamber. If the car starts for a moment, you probably have a fuel problem. Check for spark.

Car shuts off when i turn on the heat or the air

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. Make sure to clean the front and back sides of the throttle body. Also, disconnect the battery during the cleaning process to allow the computer to reset and relearn to the cleaned throttle body.

I haved a 1989 Buick Park Avenue 3.8 engine...I have replaced the starter, coil pack, ignition module, crank sensor and cam sensor and still cannot get it to fire...I really NEED this car to run so PLEASE...

ok ! did you mean its got spark but does not start. if spark but does not start. check to see if its getting fuel to engine. remove air hose from throttle body and spray some starting fluid in throttle body, open throttle plate and spray some in. if car starts then stops, its a fuel problem. if no spark check the harmonic balancer on engine to see if its loose, the 3.8 engine have a crank position sensor that runs off the balancer. the rubber starts wearing out and the balancer start flopping around. and the timing gets massed up. good-day ! type in on pc browser ignition switch symtoms, and a list of things will come up. for a ignition switch controls over 50% of voltage for vehicle. good-day !

I have a 93 jimmy and it has fuel althe way up to the engine and has a blue spark but will still not start it will turn over it just will not start

is fuel coming out of the injector in the throttle body if u want to see if it will start to eliminate a timing problem or something else then poor a little fuel in the throttle body and see if it will start

if fuel isnt coming out of the injector a common cause in those vehicles with 4.3 engines is ignition modules just because its firing doesnt mean the module isnt bad

Truck would start but would not idle in drive, automatic and fuel injected,2002 chevy truck.

It sounds like your Idle air control valve may be sticking and needs to eb cleaned out. You can clean it by spraying throttle body cleaner through the throttle body and in to the idle air control valve passage way in the throttle body. Maker sure you use throttle body cleaner, the carb cleaner is too corrosive to the gaskets used for throttle body. Once you have cleaned out the throttle body, "follow the instructions on the can" turn the ignition keys to the on position for 30 seconds and then off for 10 seconds and then start the engine. This procedure will reset the idle air control valve and your should be good to go, if you see excessive smoke from the tail pipe. Don't worry, that's just the residual carbon and throttle body cleaner in the intake manifold and the smoke will go away soon as you burn off all the carbon and cleaner in the system. Takes about 5 min if not less, depends on how dirty the throttle body and intake manifold was. If this has not fixed the problem, good chance that the idle air control valve has gotten too far to be cleaned and needs to be replaced, but that's rare. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your truck running 100% again.

1988 gmc k1500 wont start

hi, check the connections at the ecm,i think it's under pass front seat,i've had a couple of those years loose injector signal at ecm connector,if you have a test light you can unplug injectors and test across terminals ,it's a 12v signal at inj ,if lights flash on both while cranking try plugging in one at a time and see if either sprays, if one does and not the other, you would have a shorted injector

Take throttle body off, clean Throttle Body with Carburator cleaner. I had same problem and its the ethynol in fuel that creates a build up in the throttle body which creates this problem. I did what a friend of mine said to do (service manager at Dodge Dealership) it hasnt happened again.
