The sounds like two problems, first is starting an any gear means the neutral safty switch is bad the car should never start unless you have the clutch pedal down, next is the car will not move an any gear, this is due to a bad clutch, its burnt out and so its not connecting with the flywheel, the clutch needs replacing. hope this is helpful.

Hi I'm an owner of a 1998 Honda Oddysey. I would like know the mechanics of using its automatic gear transmissions and specific function. For example when do I use D3 or D2 etc... And how do I shift...

Gear usage.
The Drive is for normal driving.
D2 is for hill/steep climbing drive.
D3 is for hill/steep going down drive.
If you have overdrive button, use it when you exceed 60mph.
That's all you have to do when you see roads that is going up nor down.

Thaks for asking FixYa!

Automatic gear shifter has become stiff - harder to move

put the car on jackstands or drive it onto ramps, take som carb cleaner/engine degreaser and spray the the little linkage on the side of your tranny, then work it through the gears, don't start it, just turn the key ot the first notch and put your parking brake on, try this process a few times, if this doesn't help there may be bigger problems.

Nissan heat problem kjwang

thi is usually a case of air trapped in the engine cooling system. very hard to "burp" on this engine. Need to get radiator cap opening higher than top of engine. Park uphill on steep hill, jackup car or drive on ramps. fill radiator and overflow bottle. leave radiator cap loose so air can bleed out. start engine and run at 1500 rpms till upper hose is hot. repeat procedure until you get heat from heater core. be sure heater is on duiring this procedure. good luck.

Pulling boats

this all depend on where an how far you want to pull the boat. Also the terrain. A lot of hills ect. I would say a small boat no bigger than 16ft. make sure the traier is balanced only load on a concrete ramp. Try not to load on to steep of a ramp. Also try avoid a lot of hills the main difference on trucks and cars among other things is the transmission and the way its geared. Some transmitions even have thier own cooling sytem due to the fact that towing anything tens to put a lot of strain all transmissions. After a while check your tran fluid to make sure it isnt burning. Pull the stick and look at it. if its not the redish color and if it smells burnt i recomend discontinuing towing. Also look into uhual they sold me a hitch for an 85 300zx was perfect. It had all the specs with it.
