Sounds like a bad ignition control module. You will find this located on the passenger side strut tower it should be mounted to an alluminin plate with cooling fins. good luck

Changed fuel filter, fuel pump, kill switch and tuned up still will not start

Did you visually check for spark at the spark plugs, engine cranking? Did you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, engine cranking? Also, check for fuel injector pulse.
Are there any applicable trouble codes?
I can only help with testing. Knowing if your missing spark--fuel--whatever will help with diagnoses.

The ignition module is what tells the ECU to fire the injectors.

Where is the crank sensor for a 1993 Mercury cougar xr7?

Clicking is the starter solenoid

You have a battery, cable or starter problem

The crank sensor is only for #1 cylinder recognition

If you have spark or injector pulse, you assume it is okey

Check for spark,injector pulse,fuel pressure

The starter should continue to turn over the
motor until you let go of the key

1995 mercury cougar cranks but not start

There are a lots of things that could cause that. specially if your car has a ECU (Electronic Control Unit). A 1995 should have it. There are many sensors that can stop the fuel or spark to the engine.

If you are enclined to test it you can check if you have spark to the plugs. Or fuel to the injectors.

good Luck

Jumbing when accelarete maybe fuel injectors?

Check fuel injectors with a noid light for electrical pulsing issues, and by listening with a stethoscope on each injector to listen for a telltale click (indicating it's working when engine running at idle).
